Just to put things into perspective for all the Kremlin clowns posting here: Russia has gained 536 square kilometers of Ukraine since October last year. Sounds a lot, doesn't it? But 536 square kilometers is the area of a square of side 23 km. To put it into even greater perspective, the metropolitan area of Kjiv is 839 square kilometers. This is what Russia has 'won' in the last six months - and at the expense of 10 % of its entire land army. Perhaps you can understand why we simply laugh at you.

If the losses are 2 million Ukrainians vs 60 thousand Russians, that’s a loss rate around 33 to 1. There is no way NATO could survive an actual war against Russia, even only using conventional weapons.

I think Russia has somewhat balanced the head count in that respect. It is terrible that in a modern world such things happen, however, the Russians and their leaders had no choice. Moreover the Russians have demonstrated restraint. Thank god none of our people have died for this conflict.

Your commentary is spot on . The situation has deteriorate. No amount of funding will change anything, only slow down the outcome and that is debatable. The MIC is the only winner in this game.

If Ukraine lasts until the end of the year without surrendering, I will be surprised.

What many people forget about the shells und ammunition aid for Ukraine: You can give them as many shells as you want, after a certain time there gun-barrels are worn out! You have to replace them! The german "Panzerhaubitze 2000" for exemple shouldt replace the barrel after 1000 shells, after 2000 shells you risk to destroy it complete. (For that you have to list every single shell that you fired out a gun-barrel in the german Bundeswehr!) The Ukrainens need hundreds or maybe thousends of new gun barrels for there million shells!

Russia in its own history had far greater military commanders than Napoleon. Suvorov, for example, who didn't loose a single battle in his life. He was able to capture heavily defended fortresses with enemy's numerical superiority of 1 to 3.

I told everyone that the supposed losses at Avdiivka was bogus. Russian losses were very low. The Ukrainians had incredibly high losses due to artillery, drones, and LOTS of FABs.

UA side was well dug in. Russians were attacking in the open from October 10th 2023 to mid-Feb. 2024. Obviously RU human losses were much higher. Also RU equipment losses (leaving verified wreckage) were sky high with hundreds of armored vehicles destroyed.

The effect of increasing use of FAB glide bombs cannot be overestimated. I think part of what we're seeing is a growing unwillingness to being subjected to a barrage of them. Word gets around, either directly or by units discovering that other units no longer exist.

The story in the WSJ today on Ukraine was about Citi Bank in Ukraine, that they are staying put in anticipation of making money they can make during the reconstruction of Ukraine.

The American DOD is working on the largest tranche ever this week including an additional 575 Bradley Fighting Vehicles, 900 + Humvees and M113 armored personnel carriers, as well as 1300 ATACMS, are also expected to be in the the first package. Most of this inventory is waiting already on the Polish- Ukrainian border!

Alex, why did Chamberlain go to Munich? What was it that the military leadership told him about the state of the armef forces of the UK at the time? Did anyone read a book titled "None dare call it Treason"? Why is that book "lost" in the British Library depository?

I would hope that the Russians are and will be paying particular attention to rail traffic coming from Poland, with a view to destroying the heavier vehicles that can only come that way.

No one is going surrender based on the current situation. Russia has failed to make surrender a viable option for Ukraine.

6 months from now is October. Just before us election

If this is the same deal that Germany and Britain talked about about the exchange of missiles, then the British can also supply German missiles to Ukraine.

Colonel Douglas McGregor says it so well. All the casualties occur when an army collapses and retreats. The saving grace here is that Russia does not wish to inflict such attrition on fellow Slav’s. Russia is Christian and it sickens myself that the West (also Christian) behaves in such a way. Live and let live.
