UFC Fighter Bank Heist of 2006…
Ойын-сауық
Lee Murray, is former UFC Fighter and criminal hailing from London, England. He most notably went the distance with Anderson Silva at a Cage Rage event in London, England. But in 2005, his MMA career was cut short, after he was seriously injured following a brutal attack outside of the Funky Buddha Nightclub. Following his debilitating and career ending wounds- Murray returned to crime- masterminding the armed Securitas depot robbery in Kent, England, where over $92 million (£53,116,760) of cash bank notes belonging to the Bank of England were stolen by Murray and his associates on February 21st 2006. It was the largest known cash robbery in the world during peacetime.

@residentelect

@@stephenglassdale5914 Even that is so much more difficult today in the UK with the amount of static and vehicle mounted ANPR cameras the Old Bill have access too. You'd have to make sure that the plates you put on your stolen wheels are a spot-on match for make, model, colour and even trim level, because if not, those cameras will flag up an alert and then its just a matter of time before you have Traffic/Roads Crime Unit etc sniffing around for you. Plus if you're using stolen plates you've got a potentially very narrow window to use them on your vehicle before they're then reported as being nicked and the details pumped into the Police National Computer.

@@residentelect not only that but most modern vehicles now have GPS tracking put into the vehicle in places most citizens, criminals or even mechanics cannot find without help from the manufacturer. And they can be turned on at any point. Not talking about LoJack or onstar which is beyond obvious and easy to circumvent those protections but the built in gps’ they started putting into basic Toyota Corolla models in 2015-2016-etc etc are harder to find and easier to use by law enforcement to find the stolen vehicle again. @KN-jr6tx

@Resident Elect For all of those reasons, it's common to steal an auto just before a heist. The gang has no connection to the car, so they can just ditch it (and maybe burn it) when they're done. The terrorists who truck-bombed the WTC in the 1990s were caught similarly. One of the planners rented a moving truck under his name, filled out with explosives and detonated it in an underground garage of the WTC. Understandably, the terrorist didn't return the truck rental, so the rental place started looking for him and law enforcement got involved.
