UC | Lee Morrison | Self Protection | Dealing with a Pain Resistant Adversary

Спорт

Here was the second part of the previous clips class. Moving to the opposite end of the scale when facing someone of large pain resistant structure, pharmaceutical assisted/intoxicated or just plain raging, making them adrenalised and aggressive. All of these will have dulled pain receptor sites and will be fucking resilient to even your best shot. Trust me these kind of people are out there, in which case this target (where force to threat justified) may give you a shot!

Uhh i have tried that 😬 120kg guy, i almost went all in, this guy said absolutely nothing, no matter what i threw at him, no sound from him, and i think that is scared me, so i went into combo mode, it was like nothing happened, but when i snapped out of it, i looked at him, and he was totally smashed, and it made me wake up, and stop what i was doing, it is what it is... - Stay Blessed - - Peace - 🙏❤✌

Lee, if the threat has a weapon do you recommend moving past the weapon side or away from it? This content is priceless, thanks for putting it out.

Hans Schultz Depends on the weapon. Firearm or knife, move to the side away from the weapon. It's much harder to shoot or stab something on the opposite side of your body. Impact weapon like a bat, baton, unbroken beer bottle, etc., if they haven't swung and you're preempting, I'd recommend moving to the same side as the weapon since those weapons must build up momentum in order to cause much damage. If you move to the same side and jam the weapon, it's of little danger to you as it can't gain much speed before impact. If you're trying to deal with it while it's swinging, in other lessons Lee shows how to cover and time a crash inside the arc of the weapon and deal from there.

While your analysis is correct I am not sure your conclusion of moving away from knives and guns is blanket best practice. Wouldn't moving to their unarmed side, away from the weapon, also make it harder to control the weapon arm? The distance causes difficulty going both ways. Unless you can flank, turn and incapacitate the threat immediately how is moving to the far side going to stop a gun shot? How can you control the knife arm if you don't move onto it?

Daniel Skipp You're right, like lots of things, it depends. Flanking or arm dragging away from the knife or gun as it's being accessed and immediately counter attacking is one option. Lee demonstrates that often. You could also move straight in and jam the weapon, fouling their draw and preventing access to it while you attack. If the weapon is already out, there are control or disarm maneuvers you could attempt with an immediate counter attack if it's within reach. I was thinking of a situation where the weapon has yet to be accessed or is out but in a retention position away from you where you weren't able to grab it. An arm drag or flanking maneuver followed immediately by attacking until the threat is unconscious is probably your best option in those cases. You have the right idea though. You need to flank and immediately attack so your adversary doesn't have the time or ability to stab or fire at you. Lee's material is really top notch. I'd recommend going to the urban combatives website and purchasing the programs you're interested in, you won't be disappointed.

Thank you Sir for this important material. I am very impressed. It seems you speak from actual combat experience, and that you genuinely care to empower good people to defend themselves well. 1. Does what you teach incorporate material from formal systems (like Karate), or is it something you created and developed mainly from your own street experience? 2. What mental training would you suggest for someone who does practice a martial art, yet does not have a background with violence, in order to be better prepared for real violent situations? It seems that few schools deal with the mental aspect. And without that, even the most skilled person could freeze and get defeated. God Bless and keep safe
