Lyrics:
The shackles are undone
The bullets quit the gun
The heat that's in the sun
Will keep us when there's none
The rule has been disproved
The stone it has been moved
The grave is now a groove
All debts are removed
Oh can't you see what love has done?
Oh can't you see what love has done?
Oh can't you see what love has done?
What it's done to me?
Love makes strange enemies
Makes love where love may please
The soul and its striptease
Hate brought to its knees
The sky over our head
We can reach it from our bed
You let me in your heart
And out of my head, head
Oh can't you see what love has done?
Oh can't you see what love has done?
Oh can't you see what love has done?
What it's done to me?
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Please don't ever let me out of you
I've got no shame, oh no, oh no
Oh can't you see what love has done?
Oh can't you see?
Oh can't you see what love has done?
What it's doing to me?
I know I hurt you and I made you cry
Did everything but murder you and I
But love left a window in the skies
And to love I rhapsodize
To every broken heart
For every heart that cries
Love left a window in the skies
And to love I rhapsodize

This is by far one of the best and most exciting video clips. Brings tears to my eyes. No joking
The best video clip in the whole music history.
The filler scenes were filmed in Melbourne Australia a few days after November 18, 2006 at the Corner Hotel in Richmond (a suburb next to the city). It was a 37 degree summer day, as Aussie as summer days can get. Filming started after 10 am. There were roughly 300 extras as far as I know. We did the crowd running scene at 3:48 in an alleyway off of Swan street. This scene was shot without the band, who arrived just after 2pm after which we moved into the stage area of the venue. I was situated a couple of metres next to Larry. I know the couple kissing at 2:30 who were acquaintances of mine. The band fed as extremely well and obviously kept us hydrated, then proceeded to shout everyone beers afterwards. Bono and Adam had to leave pretty quick, but Edge and Larry stayed back. I got a band calendar autographed, and a selfie with Larry. It was a good day.
Underrated song and music video.
This is perfect tribute to entire music history
My best friend died four years ago to this day. We met each other through this song when we were very young. I come back every year in this day to remember her. I miss her so much and also I owe so much to U2 💛
When Frank S. Finished the video is simply wonderful
This song have saved me too many times to count em.... thanks U2
I was there standing right behind BONO it was the greatest day of my life. Corner hotel in Richmond ❤️❤️❤️❤️
And people still ask me why U2 is the best band to ever step on the face of the Earth...
one of the best songs of the band, as well as one of the most underrated.

I was 16 when I last saw this video. This song helped me in so many ways and to see it today for the first time brought tears to my eyes knowing the importance of how music can help you in the time of need. Thank You U2 for this beautiful song 🖤🌎
I hear the intro to this song, and assume it's a brand new 2017 indie sensation that is sweeping the world by storm. Then I find out it's "album filler" for a best-of album released 10 years ago. My god U2 are amazing.

I wouldn't say it was exactly "album filler" when it was a released single... to promote a hits compilation, no less!
I'll never know what U2 meant with this video, I can just come up with some sort of free interpretation. For me, here's the band saying , "we're no u2, we're no band at all, we're Dave Evans, Larry Mullen Jr. Paul Hewson and Adam Clayton, just a bunch of guys who love music so much, we're the audience in front of these giants and immortals who gave us all so much joy and meaning to our lives. I choose to see it that way because it is a feeling I can relate to. We have so much to thank these musicians for, so many songs they gave us, that fueled our very existence, for how they make us cry, scream, jump around and just making us all feel alive. It goes beyond the music, idk, it's something larger than life... To hear the music and even more, to be in a concert, this kind of symbiotic thing that happens between band/musician and audience, this energy that you feel thru your whole body and in your soul, they feel it too onstage, it fills the room, wether it's a bar, a small theater or a huge stadium, idk hpw or have the need to explain it, anyone who loves music and went to a concert knows what I'm talking about. Many of these musicians are long gone but their legacies will live forever as long as there are people who can really feel the music... This video and song are not just intended to pay hommage or tribute. it's a way to show the power of music. Window in the sky goes deep into our hearts, and U2 is a great maybe the best vehicle to showcase this feeling

The best thing about this video are the 4 members of U2 who are seen briefly attending concerts of their idols! As ordinary people and not as rock stars, I am fascinated by their devoted and simple complicity in showing the history of modern world music. Not by posing as such, but by mere spectators and travellers in the tunnel of time. Big U2 you are the best for this reason! 🎵🎵🎵🎸🎸🎸🌈🌈🌈🙏🙏🙏📺📺📺

LOL, I do that too!!!!!!!!! I thought I was the only one!!!
massivey underated u2 song, that doesnt get the recogntion it deserves.
I still feel this song as epic as ever in the pantheon of U2 music. No doubt divine yet raw in the essence of emotions, what love does to us. No wonder it is the greatest of all feelings we have that defies any clear definition. And with this video compilation production, a stellar symphony!
This is why I love U2...even they already reach a "legendary" level but with humble attitude they respect other legendary musicians in every generations... So, why we, the fans, must fight each other to decide who is the better musicians? Salute from Sydney!
I love coming back and watching this video when I'm sad.
This video should be nominated for an award for U2 !!! The whole collaboration put together with the singers and the song from U2 is unbelievable!!!

I liked a few songs on the new album-- Zoo TV was an amazing era for music. Grunge, Pop, Hip-hop, Rap were all on the same level. Public Enemy toured with them. Pixies toured with them. I saw them in Charlotte during Zoo TV. My mind is still blown by the production--- I've seen hundreds of shows and that tour is right up there with Pink Floyd & Nirvana in my books.
