This was a song we've chosen to dance to with my wife on the wedding day. Now I am a father of a 4Y old girl and cannot agree more with the message. This song remains absolutely universal. Thank you U2 for giving this anthem to everyone.

IMO if U2 kept this as an acoustic version (the version they'd perform on late-night talk shows and at the Oscars itself), it'd be hard to argue against it. Stripped down, the song is much more emotional.

they're not more powerful than Jesus, who is God. U2 outwore their time a long time ago. Like a-ha, Norway's awesome pop/rock band, who knew when to stop, U2 has swelled heads and think they have to keep making so called music when really all it is is achtung baby, pop, all you can't leave behind, atomic bomb, etc rehashed over and over and over again- U2's long since gone as far as they could, but instead of bowing out gracefully like a-ha, bono and all his political shit-basically HE IS the band.............they want to be assholes, and 'TRY' and make music when there is none for them to make. its really so sad, pitiful, disgusting, they are -they shouldn't even be a 'they' they thoroughly disgust me to the utmost, bono and his ego save the world bullshit especially, bono is a fuckin prick-cant stand him, if I saw him in person id wanna punch his face repeatedly, but that's not something a born again believer in Jesus as myself does, or I should say, should do. I was there. Im 47, I grew up with this band, lived and breathed them for years, through school - all of it. throwing money at problems solves nothing. you can work til your hands bleed-means nothing. Only if God saves someone into Jesus by becoming born again is worth anything. Spiritual change in the heart is what's needed alone, COUPLED with medical attention, food, water, clothing shelter etc. but doing these things alone without sharing Jesus-preaching the gospel, is futile. All humanitarians do is give a man a fish-feeds him for a day-those who give them Jesus feed them for eternity and Jesus teaches them-takes it from there.

Over 10 years later and this song is still beyond phenomenal and hits me in the feels. It seriously deserves so much more recognition, without a doubt.

This is great!! I spent so much time as a little kid listening to U2 and to see this is amazing! They have been together for so long now, so to see that they are still going just makes me *SO* happy! The song itself is also very jaw-dropping, and I do hope their new album is this good!

I still vividly remember watching their Oscar's performance with this song. Almost 6 years later, and I still listen to this every day.

Agreed. Never even heard of the song or movie until that night. IMO that acoustic version is way better and more emotional than the one here.

Simple, clear, truthful, beautiful... When I now listen to this song, I really want to believe, that the ORDINARY LOVE, which they feel to their country, their home, their families, will help the Ukrainian people to stay strong and win after all. 💛💙🙏

Ffs 🤦🏾‍♂️ The susceptibility of people to propaganda to the point where they have to shove it down everyone’s throat at every opportunity in every aspect of life should be an IQ test. How on earth anyone is saying these things is just astonishing considering you have no blinkin clue what’s actually happening. But you don’t care. Just onto the next thing that we’re going to be obsessed and propagandized with. Ridiculous.

This is the song I want people to hear on my funeral. My family loves U2 and for all of us it is a different song with different reasons. I can't describe what this song means to me. It's such a shame that this version is not available on Spotify.

John Doe There are many religions one can belive in, but assuming you are catholic I'll just say that you just wrote a comment that implies that you are "superior" from the rest of the people.That way of thinking is against your religion. I guess you have soms self-judgement to make, so I suggest you stop judging other people and look at yourself. first im not a christian, second 'christianity' is not a religion, it's Jesus. It's a 'relationship' with God the Father, not a 'religion' which are dead cold satanic. Jesus is as far from religion as east is from the west.
