Without any doubt, this is one of U2’s best studio recordings. It is quintessential U2. All its ingredients are the things that make U2 great. Machine gun drumming from Larry; Probably one of Adam’s best bass lines; Classic Edge riffs with those ethereal delays; Bono giving it hell on vocals. This is a masterpiece. Deserves to be heard much more widely.

I was in the backseat on a long drive home with my family on an overseas family vacation. A vacation I knew would be our last together before we left the house and started our own lives. It was a hot summer evening, the sun was only beginning to set, windows rolled down and not a single person was talking. This song played on the radio. Warm wind in our face. A bittersweet feeling came over me. A feeling of loss knowing we would never do it again and a feeling of love because it happened. Whenever this song plays, I feel life. I hope that I will always be able to recall this memory whenever this song plays, long after I recognize myself in the mirror.

The Best Line Bass from Adam is in the song SOME DAYS ARE BETTER THAN OTHER. From The Album ZOOROPA.1993.......... But U2 Band have never played this song in live show. I don't know why?

I read once one of the reasons Adam's bass is so integral to the sound is because when he learned to play bass he played an octave higher than most bassists. Edge shaped his sound around the sound of his bass.

To me the beauty of this song is that you could put it on almost any of their albums and it would fit. It is pure U2, showing their signature sounds, but not being stale or redundant. Loved it from the first listen

I was depressed. I didn't feel like getting from the bed in the morning. Then I thought I could walk to my office while listening to this song on my headphones. This song was the only reason I got ready and went to work that day.

Pure genius. U2 is a timeless band. The music that got me through the unbearable days of high school. Joshua Tree album, Beautiful Day, Electrical Storm, So Cruel, and the list goes on

Horizon was a OK album, but the 3 "Songs of..." albums are absolute crap.

I remember listening to this song in the car when I was only 6 years old, almost 11 years ago. U2 songs have raised me and this one will always hold a special place in my heart. Love from France !

@@richardcray2919 Excuse me for interrupting but just for your information should it be of any interest. I live in Dublin and grew up very close to him . He lived on Rosemount avenue. I grew up on Saint Brendans Avenue just around the corner . We are both the same age and after his parents sent him to a school called Mount Temple my parents sent me to a school called Chanel College. I often said to my Dad about how U2 began and joked with him "Dad if only you had sent me to Mount Temple instead of Chanel College!. Who knows Dad who knows??. Anyway when Larry is in Dublin he can still be attending services in the local church . However I think he now has more money than me and he certainly has more hair !.. Sorry hope nobody was too bored by all this

You know that U2 is a great band. Just last week the queen of England gave them a plack and invited them over as she has done in the past. They play all over the world and different countrys so that shows you how much they are loved and appreciated.

This is the ringtone I’ve had set for my dad ever since it was released. Still listening to it today- truly Magnificent

I sing this song to my Lord n savior for loving me n protecting me. Now i have my faith in God restored. Hes brought me thru so much, cared n loved me when i didnt love myself... im so glad to be back home. Ty Jesus! I cry tears of joy now

God being the infinite knowing out of which all experience is made.

Shot in Morrcco. Not a massive fan of U2 but they do produce some gems. Gems which appeal to me that the song has a catchy hook in the melody and more important is that the vocal is sung with 150% expression. Here lies 1 of them alongside with The streets have no name.

Totally underrated album. It sounds a lot like the U2 from the 90s. Is such a pity that it wasn't that well received, and they go back to their not experimental pop songs in the following albums.
