Wrote for his daughter, just incredible. As a father to a beautiful baby girl, I can’t imagine writing a more beautiful song to her than this. There’s nothing more humbling to a man than being blessed with a baby girl. For you Gabrielle my heart ❤️

Childish people hate

I need to record that this song saved me from suicide 3 times. At a certain point, I was lost in myself, I couldn't find a way out other than death. And I asked God a lot for an answer. It came to my mind with this song the other day, after a crisis. Every time now, I sing it trying to ward off the crises I have and it has helped me a lot. Thanks, Bono. Thanks, U2

Oi Marcel, seu depoimento me arrepiou. Me arrepiou pois foi ouvindo as músicas de How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb que me fazia sentir a presença do Espírito Santo, em 2005 isso, mesmo eu sendo ateu eu não entendia o impacto que essas músicas (principalmente desse CD) estavam fazendo em minha vida. Eu tomava medicações, e não saia de terapias, eu estava com depressão sem vontade de levantar da cama e com muitos ataques de pânico. Bem, devo dizer que eu aceitei a Jesus Cristo em abril de 2006 e em menos de 3 meses eu já estava curado da depressão e da Síndrome do Pânico. Impressionante, oro desde já para que esteja bem sempre. Amém!

why the fk do i love this band so much? For so long? Despite the great music, the escape, the grand spectacle of the live shows....i guess it just boils down to the absolute raw passion in the lyrics and Bono's voice. Also doesn't hurt that the 4 of them are an absolute unbreakable & unstoppable force who's work has landscaped this world like nothing else. Thanks for giving me something to believe in all of these years.

This is my favorite U2 song. This makes me think of the fleeting time you have with your kids while they're still little, and all the hopes and dreams for them that go with it.

This song came out when my oldest daughter was around 15. It perfectly describes the feelings I was having, but couldn’t express, raising my first teenager. It guts me every time.

I love the story of how when Bono played this song for Edge and told him it was about Edge's daughter Holly (Bono's Goddaughter) and her becoming an adult, it made Edge cry.

He told Q Magazine November 2004: "The last time I cried was listening to that song. It was a song Bono started on the last record about my daughter Hollie. He's her godfather. The lyric became more universal. About being young and full of doubt about yourself. He probably won't agree, but I think it has connotations for Bono, looking back to when he was 20."

What an album. I'm glad Vertigo and Sometimes You cant make it on your own had had chart success. Imagine this album followed Achtung baby in the early 90's ?! People always bang on about Joshua and Achtung (Rightly so) but people forget how great How to dismantle an Atomic Bomb really is.

Excatly. Vertigo and City of Blinding Lights are absolute gems and one of the greatest songs they have ever written. Also All Because Of You and Crumbs from your table are great hard-rock tracks and Sometimes You cant make it on your own and this are awesom ballads. I really think its one of their most underrated albums (along Pop and NLOTH which for many people were too experimental) and i absolutely love more hard rock sound of it compared to other stuff by U2. I would love SOE to have similar sound to HTDAAB but as far as i can see it will be more similar to ATYCLB

Totally agree I loved city of blinding lights. When I was little I wanted to listen to it all the time. I’m pretty sure I destroyed the cd because of much it was played. I love the album in general but that one song is still my favorite. It was my childhood I was only four when the album was released. I’m so glad that my parents let me listen to U2 at such a young age.

September the 15th 2019, what a song! I keep coming here since 2009.

This song is exhilarating 💖 and has that classic u2 sound everyone loves. Edges guitar always reminds me of echoing church bells from heaven. Some people have way too much confidence baby love that line ❤️

I just came across this video. It's March, 2023 and this is my first time seeing it. I know the song and love it! Now I know the video and love it!

When you look back at everything that is happening this song gets me through the day. Reminds me that our lives are important and family is needed more then ever.

Empieza con Joshua Tree luego Unforgettable Fire, luego Rattle and Hum y de ahí te lo dejo como quieras porque son 14 albumes.
