Well, he’s definitely cool enough to know better than to sing “Gimme Shelter” like it’s a Sondheim standard. Bono? Not so much. Because when Edge and Bono hit the dual guitars, this had a TON of promise. Fergie did a WONDERFUL job trying to get the thing back on track, but the horse had already left the barn.
Fergie so strong and dominant. The haunting music of Richards & Jagger and the guitar of The Edge... great performance!

But if you want to see another version of this song, please find the live of Shaka Ponk and Detroit on youtube. You will not desappointed, I promise: Samaha, the French girl singer of Shaka is even much better than Fergie.
Bono didn’t lie when he said let’s do something special. U2 and Fergie and Will already got me but to have Mick Jagger come perform with everyone is real rock music magic. Bravo everyone. That was groovy and awesome.
Mick Jagger just stole the show he would put men half his age to shame with his vitality and movement he is just a magnificent showman and a British all time great tremendous stuff.
Hell of a performance!
The Edge = FANTASTIC!!! 🌟👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I've been a Stones fan since the early 1960s. They got back into gear in 68 and 69 after a messy 1967, and this remains one of their greatest songs. I also think this is the best ever 'live' version.

Goosebumps, I'll never forget this song coming to a close right as they opened the door of my plane after landing in Afghanistan.
I just watched this amazing video, and without a doubt, it blew me away! The guitars provide the main theme but with a unique eerieness that U2 is known for. And Fergie and Mick Jagger have great synergy! Indeed, this performance is a real gem!
I love 💕 this performance. The eerie guitar from The Edge, the vocals from all the singers. The breakdown with the cool rock and roll guitar chorus. The original is one of the greatest... And they figured out how to take it even further. It sends electricity straight to my soul.

When Fergie came to the front to do her bit, there was a drastic increase in the energy level; and that takes a whole new meaning when Bono and Mick Jagger are on the stage. This was mighty by Fergie. Love it! Due credit to Mick and Bono for the perfect build up and for sharing the stage with Fergie and giving her the space to own it. Bravo.
