U.S. Bank fires employee after she gives 20 dollars of her own money to a struggling customer

they aren’t even telling the whole story. not only did the employee get permission to take the money, she offered to clock out + use her lunch break to do it. + she did all of this b|c the customer, exasperated, said, “i wish i could just get $20 of my own money for xmas.” so - she did the next best thing. it was xmas even for crying out loud + she was out there going out of her way + making their company look damn good in the process.

Kathleen Tate I am totally against them punishing the lunch lady for feeding a child. I say what a terrible administrator at that school and probably the school district stinks too. My district gives kids who are from families who have limited resources give them free lunch and free breakfast. Even during this quarantine all you had to do is drive up and it was handed to you through your car window in a paper bag while the person handing it out was masked and gloved. The shooting that you are referring too was an incident where a black man resisted arrest because he was going to drive drunk and the police stopped him from getting back in his car and potentially killing somebody. Too many times the Police have to deal with drunks hitting someone going the wrong way and they hit and kill an entire family. That man fought the two cops and grabbed the cop’s taser. Did you see the video I did, he fired it straight at the cops face he was only a few inches away, do you know how deep the prongs go into the skin and it could have hit the cop in the eyes because that is the level he fired it at. Yes the cop shot him but the cop feared for his safety and his life. There are laws against resisting arrest, taking a cops weapon and using against the cop, the cop has every legal right to defend himself. Do you really want to live in the country with no enforced law or police protection. Why do they always think they can commit criminal acts and break our laws they holler and scream and burn and loot. If the people don’t start behaving there won’t be a country worth living in. Please tell me you don’t think everybody should be allowed to act and do everything they want to do. Do you want all of the criminals running loose? I think emptying the jails and putting incredibly evil men on the streets and calling for defunding the cops has got to be the dumbest idea I ever heard. Are you ready to be robbed and beat to a pulp or maybe murdered? Please tell me you want to be safe and protected Katherine? Do you have children? My heart breaks for all of these precious children just setting in their homes or walking across the street either being murdered themselves or seeing their daddy murdered. How does that little girl ever get over that? She will live in terror the rest of her life. My father was the most precious person to me who always made me feel safe, now that beautiful baby has no more protector.

I was a bank teller for almost 7 years from about 2007 to 2014. Over time, you begin to care about your customers & they about you. You’ll ask how their kids are, or how their jobs going. They’ll ask about your school, & it was common for them to bring us Christmas gifts or home baked goods on holidays. Yes, there are certainly professional lines you don’t cross but guess what? We were the most successful branch in our region & one of the top in Texas. Why? Because we showed care & concern for our co-workers & our customers. My regional manager asked me “Why do you think your branch manager is so successful?” (we weren’t in a rich area) & I told her, “because she treats customers practically like family, she’s a very warm person.” This kind of hard nosed by the book nonsense doesn’t make good business sense & frankly isn’t the kind thing to do.

Everyone I've offered to shop for has said they will reimburse me, but I don't always accept it because I know money is tight for them. I became a CNA because I love helping people and don't understand why I can't spend MY money the way I choose! By the way, I still shop for them, I'm just very careful as to who sees me bring in said items.

This is because the US doesn't have any sensible employment laws that can protect employees. Why they don't? Because the rich oligarchs who run the US want to keep wages low, and make employees work for less money to ensure they have maximum profits. In the UK all full-time employees have 6 weeks paid leave, 8 public holidays a year, the right to paid maternity AND paternity leave, sick leave and can't be forced to work more that 40 hours a week (they can work more if they volunteer to do it) and a company can't just 'fire' them unless they've gone through a process which includes giving the worker written warnings that their behaviour/actions were unacceptable. The consequences for companies who break employment laws are severe, and CEO's can be held personally accountable. Until the people of the US insist that money is taken out of politics the working and middle classes will always be given a bad deal, because rich people 'buy' politicians who then block any attempt to give ordinary Americans a decent living wage.

As long as there is enough money in the account, paperwork and bureaucracy will be done later. My CU held my paychecks for two days because my employer did not offer direct deposit and it was only for the FIRST TWO deposits. Thereafter there were no more holds. There’s always a better bank out there. 🙏🏽

What the hell is wrong with this bank. This is my bank and I am so ashamed that I was a customer and now want to leave. US bank needs to repair this before it goes viral and it loses all it’s customers.
