While that's not only true, this one's different. When men in agony and horror cry out for their mom, like wounded on a battlefield, it's a psychological reaction, not "literally expecting" their mothers to actually show up. But Tyre was even literally crying out for his mother who he hoped would actually hear it and actually come save him in person. So heart-wrenching I can hardly stand it.

There is no way on earth I could watch the video of my son going through something like that. I totally understand Tyree's mom feeling that way. Seeing the result would be more than enough to know what they did. My God this is horrible. I feel such grief for the family.

I lost my son in a situation where undercover cops chase my Son in a store and then he was taken to a hospital and I got a Call at 1am in the morning that he had pass away! What ever you do family keep Trusting the Lord to help you through this. My son was 29 years old When he pass away! May GOD keep you!

She's being very strong, driven by passionately seeking justice for what was done to her son. I just think that no middle class families persons are free from anything like what happened to Tyre. That's a very thought out statement, based on years of being back in the USA. I was being warned about police, by people where I live, not too long after I moved back from overseas. That's why I had the windows tinted in my car, because I was warned about being a woman driving home at night by myself, where it can be seen through the windows, that being in a low crime area. Can whine about African history, but it doesn't matter even if all white areas. The same type of predatory greed, and abuse if not easily fed, with even verbal questioning why, can apply to all equally the same way. What I was warned about is even worse, sexual predator cops, or just get off beating up women.

I'm so saddened to hear of this man's horrific death. R.I.P. Tyre 😭

Watching police beat him, is just as difficult as watching the pain in his mothers words. This is not okay. I’m not American. I’m South African. But my heart is with this mother today… I’m trying to send her strength… yet I know… I couldn’t never send enough. G-d bless her. and may he rest in eternal peace

I come from a family of Cops, and usually I give them the benefits of the doubt until the court day, but 5 officers against a 150 lb guy ; no arrest should end in death

It was also stated in a comment section, on another news platform, that he was sleeping with a cop's wife! It was also stated that, he made a complaint about cops harassing him. The brotherhood came to get him...

God bless you. I feel traumatized as someone living thousands of miles away. What a horrific evil act on your baby. I have no understanding of such evil. This needs to stop. What is wrong with these evil men. The only thing I want to see is these sociopaths answer for their vile actions. No mother should be assaulted. I am so sorry.

Very much so. I saw a few seconds where he was held by 3 officers while in handcuffs and another cop punched Tyre multiple times in his face. It's like they forgot they were cops and acting like organized gangs.

OMG I've been on a journey for over 20yrs with Amy she is a super hero for having the ability to maintain composure when dealing with the most tragic of life wrenching stories that are the worst our societies have to offer. Yet again we are watching and cringing as the details unfold and she continues to ask the questions for us and you can see her heart breaking. I love you Amy never change you give us strength just by being you. My heart is broken for Yet another black family when will this insanity stop.

It is very difficult to see the parents with so much grieve. The grieve I feel is not comparable with the family,s grieve. It could happen to me. To everybody. And crown disease A beautifull soul that is wat you see when watching his picture. Nothing more then a beautifull soul like his parents. I’m so sorry for the parents.

I’m so sad for these parents and his little boy. How do you tell a little boy that you don’t have a father because police murdered him? How is this poor child supposed to ever feel safe in the world?

Most police officers who commit brutality do not have the medical diagnosis of sociopathy/antisocial personality disorder. One doesn't need a specific psychiatric disorder to commit heinous acts. Psychologically 'normal,' 'sane' people do cruel and brutal things all the time. And conversely not everyone with class b personality disorders is actively cruel and abusive.

People that beat other people frequently often express a lot of surprise someone died, much like the scorpion unit police officers are doing here, because they've beaten so many others senseless before and THEY never died then, so why has it finally happened now? I see wife beaters say the same thing when the wife finally dies they'll be sooo shocked she died because like I said, "she never died BEFORE so no way it's happened now!" It's common. You should see how the scorpion unit was encouraged to operate. It was a disaster waiting to happen and rest assured the chief knew that. He has plenty of experience. He knew. She just wanted the benefits (more stolen cars returned to the owner) at the expense of safety. Edit: Wow, Tyre was 6'3 and 150lbs and sick? They were beating a walking skeleton up like that! Poor guy! Oh that's so sad. See, it's so easy to beat someone to death. It's very easy, even tasing him could've given him a heart attack in the shape he was in especially. It can give me a heart attack I have tachycardia. It can give YOU a deadly heart attack. You're probably overweight therefore your heart is somewhat weaker than others. Just because you may have been tased before, doesn't mean you can't have a heart attack the next time you are! Or the next time! So...that in itself is possibly* deadly force, that should only be used when they're in danger and they KNEW they weren't in danger here, but they just felt empowered to do anything they wanted at any time because they had the Chief's approval. She knew what they were doing. She's a black woman with plenty of experience she knows how fast that could've gone out of control completely. It was already out of control. Now they've killed someone. Only took them 1 year after engaging a "scorpion unit" to kill a 20 something innocent man.

Yup. Many cops have a delusional and disgusting P. O. V. Of themselves as "super heroes" who once the race riots start they will come in and rescue women and children. But in reality they salivate the prospect of a race war and they add to the Hate and Mistrust of Police officers everywhere. There are really admirable, hard working and humble officers out. There, but there are WAY Many more violent, despicable, misogynistic, racist Police who are sadist, wayyy more. Police departments all over America need to be reformed.

My heart breaks for them.... I hope and pray justice will be done..

The comment about how no one showed him an once of compassion and humanity while he fell from side to side in agony is what got me too. There were so many more men there that had come after the fact who just ignored him. They should be fired at the very least and charged with manslaughter for not at least attempting to help him.

Prayers to Tyre and his family

I worked for several years as a psychiatric nurse. I was trained to de-escalate patients/clients who were sometimes very disturbed. I had also been trained so that if a client/patient needed to be restrained for their own or others safety i (about 110 lb) and two others were able to get them on the ground, and securely held. This was done with the maximum respect possible and the minimum of harm and fuss. How come many US police officers seem to feel justified and protected in using maximum forse and aggression? It seems insane that 5 officers cant manage a situation with an unarmed and cooperative man without beating him to a pulp and killing him. The police in my country arent allways perfect, but it is unthinkable that they would act in this way. They too are taught to use respect and de-escalate as much as possible

Where are we at with union contract reform? National registration for negligent conduct? Doing away with allowing for cases like this to settle based on trained officers uttering the words “I feared for my life.” Changing police culture absolutely starts with union contract reform reallocating funds away from tax dollars paying to defend 5 police officers who beat Tyre to death.
