    Personally I never doubted Tyler, the guy is a beast and he's living proof that if you put enought time and focus into something you can acheive it. As for the rating he'll do what he said, he'll reach 2K and then never play chess again in his life.

    I don't think there's any big mystery with Tyler1's improvement. What matters is how many games he played, how much he studied, and his focus/concentration in his games and studies during that nine month period. Of course his achievement is way above normal, very admirable, and I'd guess that he's probably a pretty intelligent guy to begin with. Anyway, Tyler1's improvement is inspiring, and imho underscores the importance of focused and concentrated work in improving any skill.

    cope, you can overcome a lot in these skill based stuff with work ethic, analyzing mistakes, and figuring out to do better no one is saying you need to be the best but you can reach top 10% in most things without having talent for it. Probably need innate talent to be the very best but 99.999% of humanity will never reach that so why care about it in the first place?

  • @illarionbykov7401

    @illarionbykov7401

    21 күн бұрын

    @@Coconinga I agree that hard work can get an average person to the top 10% in almost anything, but top 10% doesn't impress most people these days--it's the modern condition that we are so used to seeing mostly top 1% or better on TV and social media, that merely top 10% starts to seem "below average" in comparison. FYI--the word "cope" means to "successfully deal with difficulty" so telling someone they cope is a compliment--it's saying the person is successful. Most social media trolls misuse the term because trolls just want to upset people, not learn or teach anything true or useful.

    Don't say that openings do not matter in low elo! The important thing is playing the SAME opening over and over again. This way you reduce the variables you have to think about. You will have more familiar situations at the beginning of the game, and you are setting up the game to go to a similar game state later on.
