TWO DAYS OF PHOTOGRAPHY AT A LITTLE-KNOWN GEOTHERMAL AREA IN ICELAND
#landscapephotography #creativephotography
Finding abstract forms and arty subjects in nature is a challenge. In this video, we are taking photos in the geothermal area Þeistareykir in north Iceland. We share a few photo tips and show what methods we use to get closeups of clay, mud, and amazing patterns earth has to offer. We really enjoyed photographing the patterns we found in the geothermal area. It is a little-known location so far in Iceland.

Brilliant landscape and photography
Incredibly beautiful.
Wow what a magical place. I love the abstract pictures.
Is the loud WHOOSHING noise from the natural phenomena or a nearby highway? "Voila!" indeed!! That place where you use the tripod to engineer a view point...so beautiful and abstract. Art. Sannarlega dásamlegt. Svo einstakt. Landslagsljósmyndun eins og hún gerist best. Let us hope it remains "little known".

The noise comes from two holes and geothermal energy stations where the steam comes up from the ground making this loud noise. The white steam you see in the background is where they are located. The noise changes from day to day, but most of the time it is loud. On the plus side is we get about 90 MW of energy from the ground. There are two 45 MW turbine units in the valley, utilizing the geothermal energy.
Wonderful images. It was nerve-wracking watching you do that trick with the tripods. When you visit a geothermal site and if you do not know about it, one thing that hits you is the smell of sulfur. In the end you get used to it and are completely taken by all the beauty around you. Thanks for sharing.
A pleasure to watch your video's, and of course the photo's. Thnx.
I have visited the area in 2015 when it was still more natural with Erlingsson travel. Absolutly fantastic landscape!
Thank you for another fantastic video.
Beautiful photography and it's so different and unique than normal photography. It's an amazing experience, watching your videos. Thanks so much for that.
Så vigtigt, at man bor på sin lokation. Ingen andre, som jeg har set, kommer i nærheden af jeres kvalitet og mangfoldighed som naturfotografer på Island. Tak !!! 🙂👍

Thank your Brian. We appreciate your contribution.
Great Video. When you do the tripod trick for stills how do you focus?
@GudmannAndGyda

Thank you. By using the screen and set the autofocus to AF-F the camera focuses for you. Nikon D850 in this case.
didnt you move from the D850 to the Z7 II ? i understood last year you were looking at moving to the Z platform. Iceland is on my Bucketlist.
Do you have US supplier for your books to avoid shipping costs?
