This time we are photographing landscapes and wildlife at the Glacier Lagoon (Jökulsárlón) in Iceland. Every year, we try to spend a few days there photographing. Absolutely spectacular images. I am particularly drawn to the landscapes that include birds. When I was in Iceland to photograph birds in July with my long telephoto, I was frequently compelled to stop and make landscape photographs with my iPhone. I cannot wait to return to focus on the landscape. Thank you for sharing your beautiful images of the lagoon area.

Superb video and photography. Particularly love the terns, but I am addicted to photographing terns so may be biased. Totally agree on the tourist boats. We have similar problems in parts of the UK. There was a place in Norway where the government changed the licensing forcing the boats to become electric. On top of that, distancing rules were added. Maybe you could suggest that to the government there.

I am sure I am not alone in that this is a location that must be seen at least once in a lifetime. As much as I would like to visit the area, I am equally conscious of the impact of tourists on the local wildlife. I wish there was a way to strike a healthy balance and as you highlighted, put some restrictions on proximity of boats to wildlife. As usual, great footage and videos.

Thanks for sharing. I myself have been there a few times now, but you never see the crowds of tourists on the photos and videos. Ok, I was there myself but I didn't take the boat tour. I mainly went there to photograph at night. But in the summer it is still busy there with good weather. Yet the light is nicer and you don't often see boats on the lagoon. You have created beautiful images there.

A good video insight of Jokulsarlon, I agree that it is unfortunate that the wildlife has to suffer the human pollution we create around the area but on the flip side of the coin, it is an incredible easy access for photographers. I hope to be there again in May/June, and also I want to visit Grimsey after watching few of your videos. It's inspiring... :)

Thank you Robin Lee. The good thing is as you say, there is easy access for photographers to Jökulsárlón. On the other hand, it is not really practical to use the boats for photography.

Thanks for sharing (good memories). I've visited this lagoon 4 times and everytime it is amazing. Conditions are ever changing and so is the experience. I took the amphibian tour with the family on my first visit, there were no seals closeby however so I was a little shocked about your video. I hope the telelens compression effect make it appear worse than it actually is. I do wonder where do you stay overnight when you spend multiple days there ?

Nice video thank you, beautiful images and footage as always. I think it's important to remember with drones in Iceland, that a lot of the main tourist spots don't allow them and correct me if I'm wrong but you also need permission to use a drone in Jökulsárlón too as it's in the national park?
