Yeah this outrage came out of nowhere for me. I went to university in london and the “less reputable” people I would hang out with and get my “products of fun” would always drop that word, with and around the Pakistani bros. Obviously there’s a conversation you could have about life being unfair and certain stereotypes leading to people getting made fun of more and how people from those demographics just have to laugh along or be alone… but that’s a convo that should be have without outrage. I get it tho. But I wouldn’t call it “horrifically disappointing.” We truly live in a time where there is no real trauma or real problems and we get enraged by things that you should ideally just ignore. As a brown dude if someone said sand ‘neighbour’ to me, I was taught to ignore, laugh at the person (or laugh with in this context as Ksi meant no harm) and move on. No just let it get to me like this. The guy talking about mothers and sisters and fathers being bullied is a terminal online easy life kinda guy. I come from the same culture and I was always taught to ignore and move on. It’s not about being “ok” with it, it’s about not giving a fuck about this shit. Ksi doesn’t wanna be a role model. He wants to say edgy slurry shit in his comedy channel. He doesn’t run a history channel talking like that. He runs. A COMEDY CHANNEL. Angry idiots

This is the real weird shit that makes the best example of JJ’s character, not saying a slur one time while also prefacing it with no ill intent and THEN having it blurred out. Also notice the pattern of people complaining all being decently well educated and have lots of time to worry about the most minuscule problems because they grew up with minimal problems themselves/are scarred from one incident when you live in a population of 100mil+ people. Education has made people see small things in such a macrocosmic way, when in actuality, 95% of human population does not see the world for the whole sum of their parts, even the people complaining themselves. If they truly did, they’d be concerned about people getting stabbed for simply living in the “wrong ends”, drug runners getting abused from Young to fulfil the dirty work of gangs, but no. I have never heard of this word. Where I'm from I never heard that word used, but I have heard worse words used towards Pakistani people. I have worked with a ton of Indians, Punjabis, and Pakistani people and they never mentioned anything like this. To me I would have never guessed that was a slur and just a term used to shorten "Pakistani" just how some use "Mexi" or "Mex" instead of "Mexican". So, is it safe for me to assume it is more of a common slur in Europe? Edit: I also find it funny how some of the peole upset over the racial slur were also saying "white boy" towards the caucasian sidemen. Racial slurs is a two-way road.

its really 9/11 and the immigration thing. Paki was or is still normal word, kind of rude I guess. But when people started using paki and towel heads and doon coons and all that shit it turned the colloquial feeling in normies. Ive also never really heard it referred to as south asian, rather just part of the middle east but whatever. This is UK centric so I guess they see it different. I will say ive heard it used in the UK more than the US period. Pakistan isnt usually the first country that comes up when referring to the area in generalizations. And I think with the very high xenophobia between asian origins and nationalities is probably looked down upon related to purity.
