im super impressed by the $0.00 ive made so far on Twitter, and im not even paying for blue!

i very much disagree with the "better tweets" incentivised part. Every popular tweet in the platform is filled with blue checkmarks posting a random meme they took from somewhere just to get impressions in the replies and because they are boosted to the top its almost impossible to find real replies to anything now.

People are trying to abuse the KZread algorithm with low effor content in any way possible of course they gonna do it on Twitter. Here a lot are trying to milk low effor reactions on KZread for years, the obvious evolution is people trying to stole memes and tweets

Theo can make some more money and that's fine but I agree it's just going to make twitter worse. People are just going to say random outrageous things or try to appeal more to the easily amused memers.

I know what you mean... but you gotta remember there are a lot of desperate people there, just looking for a way to survive, and they're hustling the game. It might be annoying, but you can't hate on it. You can most definitely have meaningful interactions on X... it just doesn't happen in the comment section of _those_ type of "pop"-tweets (as I call them).

Such great info and this definitely has me thinking of taking Twitter, er X, more seriously as a creator. I don't like that KZread is the only platform where I'm monetized (I guess Medium counts but they've made some disappointing changes recently) - definitely going to need get my head around how I can provide more value on X and have fun doing it.

I think it's less a mess-up/mistake and more that they're frontloading a lot of money on the program to incentivize people to buy Blue. It's probably not sustainable since the company is already bleeding money. Creators are already doing side-by-sides of previous months to now and you can see a pretty substantial drop in revenue.

@@econmang Yeah this is fairly likely, when Twitch released bits for instance they had some pretty aggressive "get X bits for watching advertisements" systems to incentivize people who wouldn't outright pay for them to start with into the system, but not surprisingly that didn't last forever.

It has also made many more people post more bait to get impressions up

The chrome extension is super cool. Really reminds me of the steemit platform (only without the crypto-bro aspects of it)

the biggest problem is that you need a full 24hrs course on how to start twitter before making a registration if you are new to it. I created account, got a highest tier plan blue badge, it was going well, had nearly 4K impressions one day. Next day drop to 17 impressions altogether. Why?! No one knows. 2 weeks shadow banned. Why?! How long waiting?! Absolute bonkers

I think only allowing blue for detection should only decide what proportion of ad money you get, not the absolute amount as the point is to have it to stop people gaming the system.

He also added a billion dollars a year in debt servicing and revenue is projected to be 2 billion lower than 2021. He said they're still cash flow negative and there's not much more cost cutting he can do.
