It's gross violation of consumer rights by Adobe in the name of 'doing business'. Milking users to fill up their pockets has become their game now instead of ethically running their business. They must learn their lesson and be made to pay for it principal and interest

For anyone who wants to cancel their yearly subscription while paying monthly: there's a loophole you can use to cancel instantly ... 1. Go to your adobe account settings. 2. Chose change to another plan, choose the cheapest available. I had the full master suite plan and switched to Photoshop plan. 3. Once switched to new plan you should be able to cancel the old plan right away, without early cancellation fee. 4. Refresh the page and then also cancel the new plan you chose earlier. 5. Make sure to remove any content you might have on Creative cloud. 6. you should now have canceled both plans successfully.

PayPal didn't back me when someone tried to scam me out of almost $5k. It was clearly a scam as I provided evidence, but they sided with the scammer. Fortunately my credit cards did. They gave PP the finger. Stopped using PP after that.

I don't like Adobe. I don't like unfair subscriptions. But in all fairness, the video confuses terms right from the start: Monthly price and contract length. When Adobe says "59.99 per month," that's what you pay per month. Nowhere does Abode say that the contract length is also one month. Just because a price is listed as "xxx per month" does not mean that the contract length is one month and that you can cancel any month. They said that this is what you will pay per month, but as they explain later, you will only pay this per month if you choose a one year contract. When I sign up for a cable TV or cell phone contract today, they will also tell me, "This contract will cost you ... per month," but most of those contracts cannot be canceled after one month, they have a minimum contract term. There used to be times when that minimum contract term could be as high as 2 years. That's no longer possible, as EU regulations prohibit minimum contract periods of more than one year for most types of contracts.

Pirate adobe if you have a company. Their silly fines will still somehow cost less than their cancellation fees, normal fees and monthly/yearly cost.

recently cancelled my annual sub a month early. paid $60 to cancel. i messaged support to express my desire to cancel due to recent terms changes which I believe are anti-artist and anti-consumer. they refused and instead offered me three free months. i refused that and kept asking to cancel for the previous reasons. they FINALLY relented after probably 15 minutes of back and forth where the support agent would take 2-3 minutes between messages (kinda felt like they were hoping i'd forget and leave the chat or something). i'm never paying for their sub on an individual plan until they offer no-fuss monthly service at a reasonable price where i can cancel anytime without fees. so, probably never subscribing again.

You said you were hopeful of change at the end, there (24:21). That part reminds me of how a wife might speak of her hopes that the court-ordered Anger Management course might change her husband who's beat her on the daily for 30 years. It's that hoping against hope the person your life is invested in will fix their problems enough so that you don't have to divorce them. I hope they change, too, but probably, people will have to stop buying into their ecosystem before we see any Thinking Different over on Infinite Loop.

I was looking into buying a handful of licenses a few years ago. However, it is not natively available on linux without needing a Windows emulator. I'm still looking for good photo and video editing software I like and is available natively on linux. I haven't tried davinci resolve yet. But I have heard it's a good piece of software.

This policy makes me wonder: Does this have anything to do with their new ToS? Could they have anticipated users jumping off CC after the new policy and added this to try to mitigate profit losses for a while? Or maybe I'm giving them too much credit...

Adobe has the (fans/loyal) lemmings that use their software without thinking... they are in essence mindless software using drones, use e.g. photoshop, premiere, illustrator.... because "it's a known program, it's what everybody uses".. well....... surprise! there are a whole lot of alternatives, that gives the same abilities (you actually need!), for way less money on the longer run. Stop the inertia, stop the schools teaching abobe garbage software.. learn people to not only know adobe software... end adobe's abusing reign. Fuck subscription based software licenses Aaarrrrrr! What a cheek, if we said they own their property but we have a license to use any data they produce to improve our product we would be sued within seconds. As for their rental practices and charges when cancelling thats outright theft! I have CS6 which I own outright but they still after all these years claim the right to say how many computers I use it on but they wont allow me any upgrades..... a despicable company who has been allowed to ripe people of for far too long......I now use other editing programmes

1:00 you got the base price, and the option to do next full major $$ or keep using the base which was still getting swcurity 3:24 Canva acquiring Serif was widely felt to be a downer: paint by numbers versus being used to pro level Affinity. 5:59 How certain it isn't BS? Time will tell. 7:16 - 9:01 Not expecting a meld that ever could mesh the two very different capability levels. 10:53 Adobe still sitting on historical prominence while consistently ignoring and disrespect towards PAYING customers. When Adobe toyed with photographers over LR subcriptioning, coincidentally at time of Affinity Photo debut, Serif gained as they either totally left or temporarily stayed with Serif's Photo.

AVID (the developer of Pro Tools, Media Composer, and Sibelius) employ a very similar business model to Adobe. I had been using Pro Tools academically and wanted to evaluate its usefulness in my home studio. After determining that Pro Tools is absolutely worthless on windows, I discovered that what I thought was a month to month subscription was actually a 12 month contract that I literally could not find a way to cancel. Luckily I had paid with PayPal, so I just told them to stop making that payment. Just like Adobe did to you, AVID emailed me several times a day trying to get the money that I had not agreed in good faith to pay them. Fuck monopolists, fuck "industry standard" softwares. Vote with your dollars for companies that don't disrespect you.
