Great video as usual. If you've covered stream labs before, I wish I'd seen those videos two years ago when I fell down this streaming rabbit hole. Learning OBS has been a continual stressor, but what I just saw looks so very easy. One question, does stream labs record?

It does pretty much everything stock OBS will do plus the Streamlabs add ons. It doesn not use OBS plugins though.

I hear ya. Not sure how many people were using it.

I used to stream with like 1 year ago. Its pen to draw on screen was awesome. I leave it when my scenes were deleted... I move to obs after that. I misss it at begining, but now I see was the best option. Rip twitch studio... with out you I hadn't become streamer.

Michael, i set up Game Capture for Twitch just the way you showed it,... logged in, setup source etc.. but when i hit Go Live i used my phone to check if stream is all good.. the game is not being captured on my phone screen even though on Streamlabs it shows that it is being captured... then, i used my web browser on my PC and went into my Twitch to see, and sure enough, all i get is a black screen... i even checked the properties of the source, and that looks okay... so, what is happening??? what am i doing wrong??? i'm pretty sure there's something i'm missing somewhere... any help would be much appreciated...

Depending on how you have your capture set up the game needs to be selected and active for it to be able to see it. also there are a very few games theat have and anti cheat thing where you need to check an extra setting in game capture to get them to work.

It was really good and easy to use, enjoyed using a bit.

i find obs kind of easy to use , took a few hours at first but it works pretty decent

How do you (using Streamlabs) set up the different audio channels for your Livestreams so that you can hear yourself/your game/your Discord/your cohosts on separate audio channels (for later editing purposes) but also hear everyone on the video playback? And do you still have to record to .mp4 for this audio separation to work?

You would put each audio source on a different track for recording purposes.

@@MichaelFeyrerJr But what about streaming? When I try to separate my audio for streaming, during the stream, they can hear me but not the game music. Meanwhile, during playback, I can hear the game music but not them.

So, I don't do twitch but I wonder what the difference is between obs and this streamlabs program? They look very similar. Can you do the same things?

You can, the big rub on Streamlabs desktop is usually CPU usage compared to OBS. It has gotten better over the years.
