    Love the video but I do have a question, I'm using the LOGITECH PRO X GAMING HEADSET microphone and frankly its awesome, every person that I game with Discord loves the voice but here comes the problem, it can pickup all the sounds in the house! I tried to do noise reduction but still it picks up the sounds around the house, so what should I do? I tried to record my videos on my channel but I stopped because of this issue. Appreciate @senpaigaming if you have any suggestions to improve my situation and thank you.

I was stunned by how good it sounded, clearly the best USB mic out there Elgato Wave1 + Wave3 . I used to have an usb-AT2020 mic, but it picked up WAY too much background noise every time bumped into my table. The Elgato is just way better than the usb-AT2020 at literally everything else. Close 10-20cm proximity recordings are super good with Elgato, dont need any plugins honestly cuz it sounds good outta the box, but you might wanna turn on clipping effect on it just because it helps a bit.

The mic is good if you really need the other modes (I used them for podcast and streams at a sofa full of people, so I wanted one mic that could do all that, only reason I got the quadcast S), but if you don't, there are way better mics out there for the same price or cheaper

    Been using a Blue Yeti Nano for years. Originally, it was fantastic quality audio. Well, fantastic to my expectations lol. But for the past few years, I've had numerous software issues with it. Stuff like Logitech buying out Blue/Sherpa and not even realizing I needed to ditch the Sherpa software app for Logitech's G Hub to update the mic. Which solved some device driver issues I was having, and gave me back that audio quality I thought I lost forever. But since then, it's a game of roulette whether or not the Blue mic will actually work right when my PC starts up. Either it works great and my voice quality is clear and warm, or it comes through heavily distorted. No apparent reason why, no clue what part of my setup could be the culprit. (And I know there could be any of many parts that could be causing the issue. But troubleshooting the problem all sorts of different ways has left me exhausted.) So I came across your video, and I thank you! I'm getting that Rode Podmic soon! I just got the USB edition since I apparently refuse to do the whole XLR setup. But I'm sure I'll be glad I did.

    Sorry if this is a dumb question, but what's it called when a software (or maybe hardware does it?) auto levels your quiet moments to be louder, and peak moments to be lower? Basically to have the same average volume. I have a mixer with a compressor on it and all it does is completely mute during loud volumes, which isn't what I'm looking for. I believe Harris covered it in a previous video, but I can't find it.

    The HyperX Quadcast is probably the best USB mics i've ever had. Plug and play with no extra software that you really don't need to use and the audio quality is second to none. Unless you're a full time streamer, you don't need an XLR setup. That dial isn't for gain, it's the mic monitoring dial.

  • @WarriorVII

    @WarriorVII

    Wrong. That dial IS for gain. It's literally listed as the gain dial in the materials that come with the mic. The mic monitoring is controlled in the HyperX software. How do I know this? I tested it months back. Also watched numerous reviews before I bought it. Great mic, I agree on that. But that dial IS the gain dial, and it IS sensitive (easy to move unintentionally). There is no physical dial on the mic that controls monitoring.

    I would advise against getting the diety. I bought it and the limiter only works at a certain gain level, but I found it to not sound all that great when that requirement is met. Also, what made me return it as soon as i saw this was a common issue, it makes a weird quick static click every once in awhile when using obs in my recordings. Turns out that was an oddly specific common problem with that mic and OBS. I instead got the Go xlr microphone i got on sale with the elgato wave interface and i am much happier. If you want to stick to a simple usb mic setup, Elgato Wave 3 has my vote.

    I bought the Beacn Mic after your review (and a few others, gotta be sure before buying something on a whim lol), and I gotta say, to this day, it is STILL one of the BEST purchases I've ever made. With that being said, I do have a single issue to this day with the mic, and that is the cable itself. There's nothing really wrong with the cable itself, it's a SOLID USB-C cable, but with it being on my Blue Mic Arm, and me moving it away from me when I'm not using it, it seems to randomly stop functioning after a while, or just unplugging and replugging. Of course, that's something to always keep in mind with USB-C, but for some reason this happens most of all with the included cable, as well as when buying others from them. I've noted that buying a really heavy duty 10FT USB-C cable works really well, but after changing the Beacn cable a few times, and then giving up and randomly grabbing an Anker one on amazon, I've had no problems for months. For context on the old USB-C, it would happen after just a few weeks (I'm very hands on and wild when I make content LUL), but switching the cable did finally make it better, just wish it didn't cost me making a $15 mistake everytime I had to change the cable. Weirdly enough, I have been even rougher lately and the braided Anker cable has been just fine LUL

    This has been a thing in the gaming community for awhile, and even gaming purists have taken their content creation with a straighter edge. We don't go to gaming companies for streaming gear. We go to the guys who focus on that type of stuff, OR go into the professional world to make sure we don't mess up. We choose companies like Elgato and Logitech (for their cameras), because we know they're good with it. We choose companies like AudioTechnica, Sennheiser, Bose, and Shure, because we know they specialize in Audio. The second we hear about "HyperX came out with a microphone," that should be an immediate red flag, because they specialize in gaming gear. Great keyboards, good mice... but headphones and microphones? Big ol' red flag. There's a reason why the Shure SM7B micorphone is used by gamers...

    It’s pretty good, the NT1, NT1-A, NT1-Signature Series, or the new NT-1 5th Gen, are all very SOLID microphones. If you’re looking to upgrade, get one of those, they all sound kind of the same, the signature edition is the cheapest one of them at ~$160. And it’s an XLR microphone so you need an audio interface to use it, but it will blow ANY gaming microphone out of the water with a night and day difference. Rode is a solid and established brand in professional audio, and a good one. You can’t really go wrong with them. The NT-1 5th Gen works though USB as well as XLR so no need for an audio interface as it has its own pre-amps inside, very good ones too, and it supports DSP, so you can mix and make your voice sound better and clearer system-wide. But that one retails around $250 as of now. Those are all professional microphones you can find in actual recording studios, just make sure your room is not completely empty because they are pretty sensitive and pick up room reverb quite easily.

    Although im not a streamer, being a career audio engineer I was forced to click the video about microphones. Personally I have many many quality issues even with expensive dynamic microphones such as the Shure SM7B - as someone with experience recording vocals with high (I mean really high) quality microphones, the Shure SM7B in my mind is about a 3.5/10 microphone. This is genuinely hilarious that these microphones are actual products and I wouldn't even call them microphones, more "sound things with cables". I understand the market is totally different for someone like me who is looking for microphones with a specific harmonic profile or tone and the flip side being streamers just looking for something with audio quality high enough for it to sound "professional". But hoolllllyyyyy shitttttt man, it is actually hilarious to see circuitry mistakes (or in this case maybe programming mistakes) which in studio recording hasn't been an issue in microphones quite literally since the 1940s. It is, for lack of a better word, STRANGE, that almost 90 years later stupid errors are still being made in "commercialised" microphones.

    I have HyperX Quad Cast S before, It was good at first, but after a while I notice few downsides. I eventually sold it to another person, and switch to a normal recording microphone with audio interface.

    I’ve been using the Beacn Mic and Mix Create and they’re all you could really need. The only issue is the software is kinda buggy and sometimes drivers won’t start up correctly so you gotta go a restart services and sometimes even the pc.
