TWA Hotel Revisited - Far From Perfect..

This is my recent visit and stay at the TWA Hotel at JFK airport. I had hoped to relive some of my old memories from the first time I visited this iconic hotel. Well let's just say that the reality of this visit didn't live up to my past memories.

So sad they are not keeping a high standard. I wonder if they have problems with staffing because they don't pay well. I still would like to experience staying there someday. Thanks for the informative video.

Glad you showed it. I think it's been cleaned up a bit by now but compared to Heathrow airport the hotels at JFK are awful, and about twice the price. Also for the high price they do not have coffee in the rooms, you have to go down to the cafeteria which is not inexpensive.

When I first stayed here when it opened it was nicer. Guess I just wanted to show how it was realy like now and people could decided for themselves. Thanks for commenting 🙂

Hi, and welcome to the channel! Yeah, TWA has gone downhill fast :( and it's expensive. The Goliday Inn Express is right near the AirTran entrance a few blocks away and cheaper. I reviewed that hotel in case you're interested. Thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate it :)

I live in Queens, so i really wouldnt need to stay there. However, if I had to catch an early flight I would stay. My uncle, may he RIP, was a baggage handler for TWA for many years.

Hi there and welcome to the channel! It's quite expensive to stay here now :( But your right that it's super convenient to stay here to catch a flight. Wow he worked for TWA, so cool, the the old glory days of air travel!

The only thing I'd add is the lack of a closet in the room. If you're staying just for a night so you can catch an early flight, that's not a problem. But I was there two nights for a work conference and the only place to hang clothes were pegs on the walls, with 4 hangers supplied. If you like the look of clothes hanging on a wall in plain sight, then no problem. I thought it looked messy and weird. If I'd been traveling with someone, it would have been even more problematic because that space is very narrow and my four garments took up the width of it. There was one tiny drawer that I put in only two pairs of underwear, two pairs of socks, and two bathing suits because nothing more would fit.

Hi, and welcome to the channel! You're right! Hardly any space :( Other than a quick visit for the nostalgia aspect or if you have an early morning flight, it's not a great place. When they first opened, it was nice and less run down too :( Thanks for watching and commenting :)

We'll be staying here in a few months and are really hoping they've spruced things up a bit! The only reason we are staying is because we'll be arriving late and flying out early, otherwise I don't think we'd be paying the outrageous prices to stay here.

Hi and welcome. TWA hotels are worth visiting once for sure just for the nostalgic aspect. But I agree with you and hope they do a bit of tidying up there! Hope you have a good trip and visit the hotel! Thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate it :)

After landing Delta, grabbing luggage .... Can you just simply walk from terminal 4 to the TWA hotel ?

  • @MilesMiser

Yes. You can head towards the skytrain then follow signs down the elevator and walk past the garage right to TWA hotel. Or walk to jetblue area and there's where you can walk through the old tunnel inside that connects to TWA.

Well to be truthfull all the hotels within a short distance of jfk are kind of pricey and some are even worse shape than twa. Unless you fly out of EWR and stay around that hotel area. If you have an early flight out of JFK and can stay downtown Manhattan that would be better but it will take you 30 40 minutes maybe more one way via trains and cabs are costly. Sorry

This place is such garbage these days… it was so nice when it first opened, but it has fallen on hard times to say the least… no where near worth what they’re charging these days.
