I've used Terminal 5 at JFK twice for JetBlue flights to Las Vegas and San Juan and can confirm that it is the best terminal there. And it got even better with the addition of the TWA Hotel. The TWA Flight Center next to Terminal 5 was thankfully spared from demolition unlike Pan Am's Worldport, and instead of just sitting there, the historic head house designed by Eero Saarinen (who also designed Dulles outside DC and St Louis' famous Gateway Arch) was incorporated into a new hotel. The only hotel within JFK's boundaries, and it's an aviation geek's paradise with a cocktail lounge inside a freakin' Lockheed L-1649 Starliner from the late 50s (the last of the Lockheed Constellation lineup), the preserved retro look of the head house full of TWA nostalgia, as well as a rooftop pool bar with incredible views of takeoffs and landings. I know people don't like it when historic places change, but this was a change done right.

Twice in the last 6 months I had overnight layovers at JFK with literally no place to go. All the nearby hotels were sold out and I couldn't even wait in any of the terminals. The TWA lobby saved me. There was food, clean restrooms, and outlets for charging. The music was like a drug and the clicking of the boards lulled me to sleep. I didn't even need a room.

They only expanded what was on that site. The new airport they built that you're thinking of is Al Maktoum International which opened in 2010 in Jebel Ali. 1:57 JFK has a far bigger flight map than this, this is completely missing South America, Eastern Europe, China, Korea, Southeast Asia, and Africa which you can take flights from JFK to.

I live on the eastern side of SoCal, and even though Ontario has an International airport, everyone has to travel all the way to the ultra congested LAX, which becomes a nightmare to anyone who's living to the east of downtown LA. IDK that I'd consider LaGuardia Airport international, as they only have pre-cleared flights from Canada (i.e., inbound passengers from Canada don't need U.S. Customs and Border Protection screening at LaGuardia, let alone CBP having no facilities at LGA). Granted, CBP does screen those passengers in Canada, but nowadays, no one in the United States considers Canadian inbound/outbound flights as international flights.

South Florida is a great place to travel from with SIX international airports. I'm 25 mins from PBI, 35 from FLL, an hour from MIA, and 2 1/2 hours from Orlando (MCO). Those 4 are all major international airports including 2 of the top 10 busiest airports in the US (MCO and MIA). I'm also 4 hours from Tampa and 4 hours from Key West. That's 6 international airports within about a 200 mile radius. I wonder if there's any region in the world with so many international airports in such close proximity? London, maybe?.

if by international airport you mean an air[ort with Long Haul flights, London has intercontinental flights from both Heathrow and Gatwick; Tokyo from both Haneda and Narita, and Paris from both Orly and Charles De Gaulle. If you ever update this video, you might want to take out the line about not having to worry about traffic because of NY’s three major airports splitting up the demand. LaGuardia is a nightmare with no transit connections worth speaking of. JFK is even deeper on the island - but there ARE rail connections (just none with fewer than 2-3 connections). Newark is probably the easiest of them, but navigating the highways and roads around it once will have you wishing for better transit.
