Miles Miser

Miles Miser

Miles Miser is all about Maximizing points and miles for First and Business class airline flights, Hotel, and resort stays.
I focus on finding First or Business Class flight awards and redeem them for points or miles, for fractions of what I’d pay in cash for the same flight.

I created this channel to share my travel experiences with you. To create videos that provide tips and information that you might find helpful. I'll provide real and truthful reviews of the airlines I fly, hotels and resorts I stay at and show you what I like and what could be improved upon.

Follow me to learn how to maximize points and miles, and come explore the world with me, through my videos!

All photos and videos are my own, captured and created by me on my travels! Thanks for visiting.

    We took Alaska First Class SFO to JFK and return in May and June this year. The lounge in SFO is very fine - one of the better lounges we have been in, with excellent food. The JFK lounge is much smaller, pretty new, but much more spartan. We have been spoiled by the Virgin Lounges, particularly at Heathrow. We have flown Jet Blue Mint before on the same route, the best domestic first class, particularly if you can get the single seat. However the price of Mint has skyrocketed over the years and the Alaska First Class was half the price of the Mint. Agree that most domestic first class is so-so, a step above premium economy on international flights.

    Hi there! I missed checking out the AK lounges in jfk and SFO. I've been to the Virgin lounge I'm LHR and it's pretty amazing :) Your right about Mints single "throne seat" it's nice I've flown that too and it's not bad for domestic FC. But yeah their award redemption rates have become absurdly high :( I wanted to try and fly their new product to Europe but lol not for the points they are asking :( Thanks for watching and commenting I appreciate it :)

    Looked pretty good, pity about the 1hr delay, as other's have commented on there was a huge number of CE seats on that flight and knowing the huge ticket prices BA charge for CE that must have been a very profitable flight. I use Avios to upgrade to CE always found cabin crew to be very professional, the lounge at LHR can get busy but have always been able to get a seat.

  • @MilesMiser

But wow, I've never seen such a layout with that many premium seats. Also, BA fuel surcharges for our award redemption was $754!! But hey, I wanted to test out their new business class suite. Hi! I'm a bit late to this review, but I have a question regarding the restroom. I'm due for my first visit to Thailand early next year (including a stay at the Waldorf), and it is my understanding that TP is disposed of in a small bin located next to the toilet. Something about plumbing in Thailand not being able to handle paper? Does this apply to five star hotels like the Waldorf too?

  • @MilesMiser
    @MilesMiserАй бұрын

    Hi there, and welcome to the channel. Good question. A lot of places have those bins for the tp due to plumbing and waste treatment, etc. But as far as I remember, this hotel didn't have that.i mean, I flushed. But I've been in plenty of resorts in Thailand that have signs telling you to dispose of the tp in the bin.. ymmv Thanks for watching and commenting I appreciate it

    I know that hotel very well. Not worth $300 a night. You could have stayed at the hotel right next to the airport. No beach but it's just a very short walk to the beach. And cleaner and cheaper. It use to be called Carib Beach Hotel. I do remember the food at Emerald Beach was good. And of coarse your on the beach. They both have nice pools. The Carib Beach Hotel is only maybe a half block from the airport. I lived on St Thomas for more than 30 years 🌴. I pretty sure the name has changed. Sorry I don't have that info.

I too don't like the tray table in the arm of the seat as it reduces seat width :( Some seats on some airlines that aren't in the first row or bulkhead row will have the tray on the seat back in front. Anyone else feel like this shouldn't count as First Class? I guess he says it himself that the seat is really just like a premium economy seat on another plane. Thanks for reviewing everything. Personally, Alaska Airlines, all you other airlines, I know I speak for quite a lot of people when I say "I don't care about the box of water and all these little inexpensive goodies. We want a seat with space and the ability to actually recline fully." That is what's important about first class. Quit trying to fill up the lack of what's really important to people with other relatively insignificant crap. The only reason I want to see a review of a first class or business class seat on ANY plane is to find out if the seats recline and how much space you have.

  • @MilesMiser

    Hi there. Makes sense to me. I mean all domestic U.S. first class airline seats are like long haul prem econ. I so much prefer long hual JAL, ANA, Qatar, Virgin Atlantic business and fc. But domestically this is what we have. Aside for the acasional route coast to coast where some airline have their lie flat long haul seats. But those are few and far between.
