​@@charlieminaj2I used to get letters, so I phoned them up and told them I don't have a tv, I explained why (i told them I prefer vidya games and never watch TV) and asked them to stop sending me them. Told me they were going to send a bloke round. Told them to tell me when cause I live on a farm and they'll need to make an appointment, but I'll make sure to put the kettle on... Still waiting for the guy to turn up five years later.

The one dislike is a TV goon.

9/10. as soon as ANYONE asks you, in their opening line on YOUR doorstep to confirm identification, say GOODBYE! Although it is hard, I admit. Same on the phone.

As soon as they say they're from TV licencing, always ask to see their ID. If they don't show it immediately, use reasonable force to remove them from the property and call the police. If they do show it you, tell them to wait a moment, and close the door and go back to what you were doing. If they're going to waste your time, help waste theirs.

I've only had one goon visit, and managed to waste a fair bit of his time, maybe 10 minutes or so. Best policy is to close the door and be done, but I really like the idea of simply chatting shit to delay them as long as possible. last visit was June, and about 6 letters since, so I'm working on my time wasting script so it is ready for the next one.

@@FuelPoverty i always open my letters and when one come with a return envelope tear all my junk mail up make sure your names not on it and when i cant get anymore in i lick and stick and post it back to them and then they have to pay some postage as well, i hardly get any junk mail now though which is a shame

@@terryweight9949 I had a claim for blame solicitor keep contacting "the owner" at my last house with a return postage paid envelope. He was just phishing as i hadn't had an accident and he didn't know my name. I put a brick in a box, padded it out, used his return postage stuck to the top and sent it back. No more phishing shite through my door!

@@adolfshitler A mate of mine also did that to a law firm who was fishing for business, but instead of a brick, he sent them all the pizza/Chinese/Indian/kabab place menus, random flyers and any unaddressed "To the occupier" type junk mail that had come through his door for several months. He reckoned there was well over a kilogram of the stuff in there, and said he REALLY hoped that royal mail would send them one of those notes saying they had to go to the post office to pay the extra cost before collecting it, due to to the parcel having "Insufficient postage". Don't know if they'd do that on pre paid postage items, but it's a nice thought. :)

Tv licence is only for the BBC, not for any other channel because the others are funded through running adverts. The BBC chooses to not run adverts and expects us to pay for their existence. People already pay for other subscriptions services like KZread or Netflix, it wouldn’t make sense for a government tv tax on top. People will just stop having TVs and only watch things on laptops or phones. Which we already pay internet service for. The BBC needs to just go, it’s time, they aren’t relevant and don’t fit into modern ways of accessing entertainment.

Together we can end this crap once and for all, WE ALL have the POWER! Please Cancel!

If you have audio on you door cam you can ask who he is and then ignore. He won't be able to take a pic of you then.

Its the first action of all goons, they point that device in the same manner straight at the person answering the door, never to the side or down or up to high, straight at them and check the screen. This fool left it on and we can see it filming the floor.

Im the same, I'm lucky in that I have a glass front door window with lead glazing and then a porch with a wooden inner door with spy hole (I fitted) so I just peer through that, if don't recognise I don't answer. And coincidently it was put in because of hassle by tv guys. When my parents used to come in summer I used to dread it cos they would always demand the door open because of the heat.. Lol.. After around ten to 15 years of no reply, no answer etc they gave up coming.. I don't get those monthly we are investigating I ur area any more.. Mind u I haven't used broadcast TV in around 7yrs so I'm legal anyway now.. Ironically.. Lol

What IS that device they hold and seem to write or tap on earnestly afterwards? Can anyone confirm?

I have an upside down house, lounge and kitchen on the top floor. The last time a goon came round I asked and got his identity from my lounge window, then asked him to wait a minute while I put something on and went back to watching the tv. As I have no cameras I have no idea how long he just stood there like a plank. Makes me chuckle everytime I think about it.

I like this! I've done something similar with cold callers on the phone. Say, "just a minute" , put the receiver on the table and pop back every 5 mins to see if they have hung up yet or not. They waste my time - I'll waste theirs!

Same as all salesmen, tell them you're not interested and close the door. I had one clipboard toting person walk up my drive while I was in my garage. He got three paces before the following conversation. "not interested mate", I shouted. "you don't even know what I'm here for yet", he responded. "Don't care, not interested", I replied, walking away. I heard some frustrated mumbling as he stormed off, and felt a sense of utter satisfaction as I carried on with my work.

He didn't identify himself immediately because he wants to try out for how long he can get away without it. It should have been the occupier's first question, without confirming anything.

They cannot come inside with out a warrant and do not invite them in.

0;32 seconds, on his hand held device screen we can see an images of the paving stones, its been left on in haste, that device is been used to gather images of the person opening the door. Later he stores the image captured.

So yes they do take video of the call.. Should imagine its more for safety than image gathering but that's deffo recording.. Watch the video again closely at end.. The goon should have produced his ID as soon as the door was answered. He shouldn't need asking for it !

I'd like to see you put together a set of a few dozen questions to ask the TV goons designed to waste as much of their time as possible while not giving them any information in return at all.

Never answer *any* questions until the caller introduces themself. At least the chanmel viewer did ask who the caller was and shut it down quicky without giving more info. 7/10

This address clearly had a doorbell camera, yet the goon banged on the door instead of pressing the bell because he knew that had he done so he would have been told to f off over the intercom.
