Thank you Lyn. Yes, if you put anything on the drills, they are going to lose a bit of shine, but I'm willing to do that on the key chains. The key chains will look a lot better with less shine than losing half of their drills 😊I hope all of your animals are doing well, and of course, that you are too!! 💖

I order a few sets of those kinds of keychains, so this video was very helpful to me. Thanks for sharing! I probably end up going with the Tombow Aqua Liquid Glue. Krylon Clear Gloss Spray for painting though.

Actually, the green gem has a coating on it from the spray. I can feel it and there are no holes in the gem. I'm pretty sure that none of the DPs have real crystals or glass, because the prices would be extremely high. I don't seal my diamond paintings, but I will do the key chains, as the drills will fall off to easily. My favorite DPs I will frame under glass to give them extra protection.

Triple Thick is awesome! I have also been using Liquitex on notebooks, and it's great!

I luv the tombow, I have sealed all my paintings with it, especially since I dont like my canvases under glass, I dont like the reflection caused by glass just want the sparkle of the diamonds.Thanks for your fantastic videos enjoy them all👍🏻🌟🌈

I did the same heart keychain set over the holidays. I use two thick coats of Mod Podge gloss glue, wait to cure for 4 weeks, and use two coat of gloss mod podge clear acrylic sealer.

Where did you get them? The keychains

Hi. Thanks for doing this demonstration! I’ve used the Tombow Aqua Glue on my diamond painting before and it totally dulled the sparkle. On your demos, I thought all of the sealers dulled the sparkle. I think I’ll just take my chances and leave my diamond paintings unsealed because a lot of work goes into finishing these super beautiful projects just to have them dulled by sealing. The diamond painting industry says these diamond paintings will last at least 20 years. They did not indicate that you had to seal them for them to last that long. This, of course, is just my opinion.

I totally agree with you about using sealers on diamond paintings. I am only using these sealers on my keychains to try and keep the drills from falling off. I would rather lose a bit of shine than lose all the drills off of them. I had someone basically tell me I didn't know anything when I said that I don't seal my diamond paintings. You just can't please everybody..... I have read that the DPs should last at least 20 years, so that's why I don't seal them, but I do frame my favorites under glass to protect them from dust. I like to experiment with my art, so that's why I try different things with them. My favorite diamond paintings will never have sealer on them.

I would rather seal them, keychains are dropped, thrown in purses, etc people are hard on keychains. You would want them to stay on especially if your selling them!

What do you seal the purses with? I use Deco Art thick gloss was wondering if it would work for them

My favorite sealer to use on purses is Super Glossy Liquitex! It doesn't crack. I need to make a new video about that one. I buy it on Amazon

Isn't there a puzzle glue?

Guys if you have a strong glue like supertitle you won’t have to do all this. The beautiful crystal won’t come off . All you are going to do is damage your glass crystal and that gloss will yellow within time.

The glue you are mentioning is a tacky glue to use UNDER the drills, not on top. Glues will crack and peel over time. The only thing I will use on my drills at this time is Liquitex High Gloss Varnish - it doesn't yellow. I would rather not use any type of solution on my diamond paintings, but keychains, and other types of items that will be handled really need it. I have paintings that I have framed over 4 years ago that I didn't seal, and they are still in perfect condition.

Great video! I think the clear nail varnish would probably peel off in time, and I have watched another video where a lady did a follow up video 4 months after sealing them with Tombow and that had started to peel off too...it's so difficult to know which is best!

Yes, the clear nail polish definitely doesn't work. I have looked at my key chains that I did - I have had them sitting to the side to check them out, and I must say that the Triple Thick is looking the best. The Tombow is definitely peeling - kind of like someone with dry, flaky skin - yuk!! For the most lasting and fool proof finish, you would need to go with resin - it changes the look, but those drills aren't going anywhere!! For me, my two favorites as of now would be the Triple Thick and the Resin. It really is hard to choose!! 💖🌺

No, the mod podge doesn't say 48 hours for dry time - at least mine doesn't. I actually like the Triple Thick the best - I think it's a bit clearer and stronger, but everyone has their favorite things to use. Putting extra coats on is a great idea too! 😊

I don't think they would hold up too well with lots of use, even with them being sealed. I never used mine as key chains, as I didn't think they would be strong enough.

You can get the key chains for several places. GBFKE, Amazon, fgnormal - just check one of those. I think cesdeals might have gone out of business with DP stuff since I made this video

What are your thoughts on epoxy resin?

If you are going to use it, make sure to wear gloves and a mask that is designed for organic chemical vapors. I enjoyed using, and I plan to make resin pieces. I've bought several molds and all kinds of things to decorate with. I would also make sure to open a window and have some sort of fan going. I hope this answered the question you were asking me.

Hi Ana!! I did a couple of videos on sealing a DP using Tombow glue, but I think I might prefer the Triple Thick that I showed in this video. You use it the same way on a larger diamond painting, you just might want to use a little bit larger brush. I normally don't seal mine, as I prefer to hang them. I store my dps on skirt hangers that have clips on them. I do that to make sure the drills are pressed down tightly. I want to get a portfolio for some of my smaller ones that I'm not going to hang - just can't decide which size I want to get! I used the Mod Podge extreme glitter on a diamond painting and it dulled it quite a bit. I have ordered the Deco Art triple thick. Do you think I could put a coat of the Deco Art over the Mod Podge to get some of the shine back?

I'm so sorry that it dulled your canvas like that. You could try it in a small area and see if it helps, but I really don't think it will. Of course, you won't know unless you try. Just do a very small area - I don't think it would make it any worse. Good luck 💗🌺
