Same here! While I spoke German as a child (2-7) I no longer speak it or understand it.

Those teeny tiny stamps are adorable and I love the effect they gave your first set of labels. Distress ink and distress oxides are so good.

I’m learning to save my papers that originally wasn’t thought of a piece to keep, so I could maybe still use it as a background over a little piece like you’ve shown in your example. Sometimes, they can become the perfect piece for a background. You share so much information that it’s hard to keep it all in my brain, so I take photo to remind me. Oh, I love that idea of making the kinda like master board, and then turn it over and cutting it in different sizes...Is wonderful to be surprised of what you will get. You second piece you turned over, in the bottom left, it reminded me of a crab or something like that on the beach.. with beautiful flowers growing in the background. I love this technique! I have done something like this before but I used acrylic paint, gel plate, then come back at last and added focal points with ink. But the way you have shown here, it make my mind go wild with ideas!!!

I always learn so much from you and this video is no exception. I pick a bunch of papers for my signatures, sew them into the journal and then add the ephemera. I don't always like the result. I see how this demonstration is a great one to try to see if my results are any better. Thanks!!!

I read that Michael Angelo would stand, staring at a huge piece of granite for months. When someone finally asked him what he was doing he said, “I’m working!” Then when he was ready, he’d carve another masterpiece. Your explanation of the artistic process reminded me of that story. I’ve recently started my Ocean Eyes journal, including your cute father as a merman. Why do I think the dark blue mermaid looks like you? You did such a beautiful job. I have a hard time finding stencils and other supplies, so I make my own paste using cheap wall filler and mixing with metallic paint - this is so much less expensive for me. Also I used my laserjet and printed a picture on my labels eliminating the need for stencils. ART finds a way! I really like that PMI (?) stencil.

That fine spray of water is a mist. I liked that you called it a dust because I knew what you meant!

The flowers look like shells on some of them 🐚 x
