Turkish Street Food in Berlin | The 18th Century Kebab | Cağ Kebab

One of the most famous Turkish Kebabs is the Cağ Kebab, which we want to introduce to you in this Episode of Turkish Street Food in Berlin. Cağ Kebab is made from Lamb and is traditionally grilled horizontally over a Wood Fire. The Lamb Meat is put on a Skewer, pressed tightly together and then grilled the Meat-Skewer over a Wood Fire. Cağ Kebab is from the 18th Century from the Turkish city of Erzurum in Eastern Anatolia and alongside the classic Yaprak Döner Kebab, is one of the most popular Turkish Street Foods of all. In the Gokorec Restaurant in Berlin-Neukölln you can get fresh Cağ Kebab in Sandwich Bread, homemade Dürüm Bread, or as a traditional dish on a Skewer. Cağ Kebab is traditionally made from high quality and fresh Lamb. The Meat is marinated only with Onions, Salt and Pepper. Because it is important with Cağ Kebab that the high-quality Lamb Meat can be tasted in the foreground.

Cağ Kebab was invented in the eastern Anatolian city of Erzurum and has been traditionally grilled over a wood fire using horizontally hand rotated skewers since the 18th Century. This gives the meat the typical smoke aromas from the wood fire.
[4] Beyran - Lamb Soup
Beyran or Lamb Soup is a Classic in Turkish Cuisine and very elaborate. Lamb was cooked on the bone for up to 12 hours. This creates the strong broth and the typically intense taste of the Beyran Lamb Soup.

    I am astonished. The Greeks still haven't discovered this dish. They copy almost all Turkish cuisine, it's amazing how they missed this dish. If they are having trouble finding a name, they can solve the problem by adding a suffix at the end as usual. Cagaki, cag kebabis or cagdes :D

    looks great well done job but the only thing is him marinating meat touching food with a ring on his finger its very important when handling food nails short and no rings or any jewellery on your hands fingers etc...--but you can see the place is clean with great friendly service good job👍👍

    This is making me hungry. Most of the kebab places in Sweden just buy their kebab meat from the store its just not the same as this. Here everything is fresh, making good food is art. Keep up the good work.

    I love ❤️ kebabs but 😢 sadly I can't ever eat another chicken kebab I had severe food poisoning that put me in hospital for a week 😫 the pain i had was tomuch to bearer plus I was passing blood so the doctors kept me in hospital for a week or 7 days to be exact and it was the kebab that gave me the poisoning so the hospital got intouch with food hygiene and reported it on my behalf.

    Yes, I prefer the kebab with lamb! Very authentic preparation maybe the same as in Türkiye! However, I do like a sauce with the meat.

    Cağ kebab olması gerektiği gibi hazırlamışsınız,mükemmel.Dürümü verirken sanki et çiğdi.Ben şahsen tam kızarmış şekilde tercih ederdim.Ama etin hazırlanışı,içine konulan makzemeler ve terbiyesi süper.Ellerinize sağlık👍🤌
