TURBO GUYS, READ THIS PLEASE - You'll notice I used an external wastegate but you can't hear it. This was because during filming, I had a pretty gnarly exhaust leak where the header bolts to the head. It was only making 4-5PSI consistently during the desert scenes, the EWG cracks at 8psi. I somehow managed to pinch not one, but TWO of the copper gaskets that go between the head and the manifold. You can hear the exhaust leak in the scenes where I rev the bike. VALVE FLOAT - When I sprayed the nitrous, the valves immediately started to float. I tried one more time and the same thing happened, I even tried spraying much lower in the rev range but still got valve float once boost hit. I'm going to need to put in some stronger springs before spraying again. It's a 20 shot BTW. A proper acceleration video comparing nitrous vs. just boost will be out later this year, after I take care of the next project (a '99 Kawasaki KX125). So stoked to finally do a dirtbike on this channel! It's not going to be a full teardown to frame build but it's going to get some goodies and get some life pumped back into it! -Jimmy

This sort of content is far superior to the "reality tv" style shows on cable/satellite tv. No drama or filler BS, no waffle, just the workmanship/engineering I want to see. Excellent.

My Dad had a 78 kz1000 back in 81. I was 14 and rode it a good bit. It was a beast. He and I raced a lot. I had a cr250r. It was fun until 70 mph and then he would walk by me and wave. Lol. Love your craftsmanship brother.

Hey man, just a tip to make your life a bit easier. Get yourself an electric turkey knife to cut that seat foam. Perfect, straight cuts every time at any angle. It'll cut WAY down on your shaping time.
