It's low on weight high on power, solid axle front and rear, locked up differentials and some good M/T tires that are aired down all come together to make that one capable rig .

Wrong! Yotas are good but the great Granddaddy of all 4x4 and still nothing can keep up with them is the Intetnational Harvester Scout II When everyone else is bogged to it's door handles I just drive around them and keep going! Once the others would spoil my day out because I haf ti spend the day Rescuing them! I don't bother anymore!

this is the best hilux ever produced by toyota because it is quite literally indestructible

That's a bad ass little truck. Mad props ✊✊

Sounds healthy. Imagine what it could do with some real tires.

Swap the right wheels with the left wheels. I know it sounds stupid but it flips the tread pattern so that instead of slinging mud aside, it forces mud right below the wheels so they are the opposite of tractor tires. This forces mud underneath so you float on the mud rather than digging downwards. It gives a little bit of traction so you move more efficiently without always slamming the rev limiter. It'll look like an "A" instead of a "V"

I have seen it all. This is the coolest off-road truck ever .

That is one of the best 4x4 trucks I’ve seen. Horse power rules

well done on this kiwi made hilux beast... just went through the build photos.. back yard work done right.... ripping the field up for next seasons crop of spuds... lol i use my nifty fifty to rip my litle garden up .. cannot be asked to dig em weeds .. ill just use the torque of a spinning wheel ... all 99ft pounds of torque

Horrible. It’s geared so low he wouldn’t hit 65mph in the quarter. He would be in 5th gear going 45 mph at 7000 RPMs.

If you were after a more simple answer it's a 1.6 litre dohc turbo, we get them in Toyota Corollas here in NZ(not turbo as standard)
