I bought a CD and Shaye designed the album cover. She's an exceptional talent.

Shaye and the group have a ton of talent and always fun to watch .

She plays piano, cornet, violin, trombone, accordion, and she dances, and she has a lovely singing voice. She leads the group with subtlety and style. Kudos, young lady, you're as good as gold!

Just recently found Tuba Skinny!, love love them. Shaye is amazing as they all are. Erika has a beautiful voice.

I've been following the band for quite some time and damn...it never gets boring! After all, every emotion that rages through my body is effortlessly captured by their most beautiful music. Tuba Skinny plays where music turns into art. ... And Shaye ...? My dearest dream bears her name...

It is good to see Shaye let her hair down. She seldom smiles during a performance, therefore gives the idea that she might be taking life a little too seriously. Glad to have a glimpse of this side of her. I am a musician as well and I already knew and appreciate her multi talents and have the utmost respect for her abilities, so it is good to see she is human, too. That takes my respect for her even a level higher, if that is possible

She was always fully human. That at one time you thought otherwise does not make sense and would no doubt be hurtful for her to know. Hopefully, she doesn't read these comments. If Jesus returned, I bet some would criticize his robes or his beard.

I liked this performance especially since the singer's voice is very low and you can hear the music up front. I like this set up, and it's a first for me. So I replayed it a thousand times.

Seeing the guitars were not very popular until the thirties. Actually the way it went down is that Gibson stayed out of the banjo business until 1920 when their first banjo was a guitar banjo followed the next year by their first tenor banjo. They thought that their guitar banjo would be an over night success, however they made their first tenor banjo in 1921, after the six string bombed. Tenor banjo was the standard for the chordal accompany instrument in these horn bands until the fall of the stock market when musical tastes changed drastically. The Gibson L5 which was first made in 21 became the standard in the early thirties so fast that it caused Martin to throw their hat into the ring and make arch top guitars, but Gibson won the contest.

Missed them at Breda Jazz...thought I had more important things that day. Worst decision of my life.

When they made short dresses they had Erika in mind

Tuba Skinny is one of my Very Fav bands for swing dancing BUT I gotta say this video shows everyone so low energy and uninspired = audience, band and dancers = it looks like 'Beer Consciousness' = sleepy, numb and bored. Maybe the band just drove all night but everyone else looks the same. A lot of alcohol?? that's what most need to be happy these days--but they don't look all that happy!

@ Al M I've heard people say this sort of thing before, "Oh they don't look like they are having fun, so serious, why don't they smile more etc". Now I'm no musician, but I bet there is a lot of thought and concentration goes into making music in a band that has anywhere between 8 and 12 musicians and they 'ain't smiling because they are working! Perhaps this wasn't their greatest number, but so it goes, it's live music. Hope I get a dance with Shaye one day!
