I've lost count of the number of Tuba Skinny clips I've now opened...and the number of times I've watched some of them. I consider them all as not a wasted moment.

Oh how I wish I had been there. What a great atmosphere of friendship. I so miss such a feeling. Bless them all.

This gorgeous song, "Donde Estas Corazon ", was composed by Luis Martinez Serrano , in Mexico, in1924. He was born in Spain in 1900 and moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina with his parents in 1907, where he lived until 1923 when he moved to Mexico for five years. It was first sung by Daniel Arroyo in 1924 as a Mexican song in December 1924 at the Regis Theater in Mexico City . It was modified as a Tango in 1927 in collaboration with Augusto Burto. , although it's played with a modified Bolero beat by Tuba Skinny and Los Mariachis who do an incredible job with it. It is most associated with Roberto Ledesma, who made it famous.

It was composed by Luis Martinez Serrano. Musician, composer and orchestra director born in Barcelona, Spain December 17, 1900. It was premiered in Mexico in 1924 but adapted to tango rhythm 2 years later by Composer and bandoneonist Augusto Berto from Buenos Aires, Argentina

kainomerta Luis Martinez Serrano , although born in Spain in 1900, had moved to Buenos Airies with his parents in 1907, where he lived until 1923 when he moved to Mexico for five years. He actually wrote Donde Estas Corazon in Mexico, not Spain, where it was first sung by baritone Augusto Arroyo in 1924 as a Mexican song in December 1924 at the Regis Theater in Mexico City. Augusto Burto , although from Buenos Aires, Argentina, had come to Mexico with a trio and was working there in 1926-1927 and liked the song and offered to modify it as a tango and popularize it in Europe in 1927. Serrano agreed for a "50% participation", which he explained in his own words.

A conference of musical heritages. That is really wonderful.

Five minutes of exquisite music and people and cultures meeting heart to heart. Shaye Cohn, knew - knows - the tune and sets the tone, rhythm and feeling ... both bands blend in - Barnabus and Thomas and the Mariachis trumpeter are stunning .. the violinist plays tenderly .. Erica's drum and that big bass guitar play as one ... Todd, Jason & Robin and the Mariachis guitars lay down a pulse beneath it ... everyone feels it. Thank you Raoul - a New Orleans moment of ecstasy ......... Shayes reaction is priceless - this is why she plays, all of them.

Actually, Mariachi largely derives from French military marching music introduced during the Second Mexican Empire.

Late to the party but this is just wonderful.

The mutual respect and admiration here are palpable. Excellent job!! Both bands blending so well!

This is awesome! Music to soothe the soul! I love Tuba Skinny! I live in MI. but I've been to Royale many times. The Quarter is an interesting place! When I was there in 05 thru the Red Cross, my job was feeding the Katrina victims, including N.O. & handing out much needed supplies. I slept in the Susan Park Gym. Most of my time was in MS. but I'll never forget the people of N.O. You'll always be in my heart! God bless!
