Tuba Skinny is my favorite Dixieland Band ever!

Just love them. Listen to them for hours on end. May their tribe increase.

Tuba Skinny is a fabulous Dixieland band. I, at now nearly 80 yrs old, have swooned over Dixieland since elementary school. I have listened to their videos ever since I found them on KZread. Decades of dust winnow away when they play; iced tea, starched clothes, sitting on porches, polite chatter between neighbors, and "oh thank goodness" spoken every time a breeze stirs. I hope they're still being listened to a century from now!

Unfortunately, this video is not searchable on KZread, so none of those many fans who are looking for new videos of Tuba Skinny by the name of the band can find it. It is only available via direct link. Therefore, there are so few views and congratulatory comments. I learned about this award only from one of your comments, for which many thanks. I have written about this issue here, and also to RaoulDuke, Pops, James, The Happy Place asking them to share the link. I think this award is a wonderful achievement and this video of happy Shaye and Todd holding the award should be seen by all fans of the band.

I don't know much about the Arhoolie Award, but I do know that this band is top notch at musicianship, historical value, and overall good vibes. The fact that Shaye is holding the Award only gives merit to it's existence.

Among other things, the music of Tuba Skinny is addictive - when I first discovered Tuba Skinny (on KZread recommendation) I listened to them from time to time, but in the last three years their music has become a part of my life. I made a list of 187 tracks from all Tuba Skinny's albums and it plays all day long. When I'm at my computer, countless TS videos are playing on the second monitor - my window to the streets of New Orleans, ets.

I am Scottish and born into a music family. More rock and blues influences = guitar and piano player and still play in London. But you guys remind me of my beautiful grand mother when I would watch her on piano playing boogie-woogie effortlessly, left hand flying, while my uncles would be playing sax, oboe, and cornet and my mum singing in your style. Wow you guys are so amazing and I watch you on YOU TUBE regularly and always fascinated. Intend coming to New Orleans in August with my musical wife. Hope to see you guys on Canal Street.

I came across Tuba Skinny almost by accident. Not playing an instrument but having a good ear for the beat, I just love the way the instruments all come together to form the songs. I just have to have a fix at least once a day. Thankyou and Congratulations on this award. 🇬🇧🥰⭐️

I've been doing the same thing with daily background music for the last few years, and when I'm at my computer, countless TS videos are usually playing on the second monitor - my window to the streets of New Orleans.

I found Tuba Skinny around last November, and their music's carried me through a cold Winter and bought New Orleans joy sunshine dancing into my life, keeping me warm and in good spirits, thank you!

I've been listening to Tuba Skinny since my husband passed a few years ago. Love the band. I had 33s of old jazz and blues. These guys are so transcending years. So enjoyable.

I am 60 and grew up with my mom listening to this kind of music. She took us to see Preservation Hall Jazz Band etc. Buddy Rich and Aierto was my first concert at 8 years old. Thank you so much for doing this!

Hooray for Tuba Skinny! It was terrific to have them up at Virginia’s Blue Ridge Music Center last year, celebrating another musical tradition in the land of fiddle-and-banjo oldtime string band dance music.

Congratulations. You are the BEST. I grew up listening to this music as my father played in dance bands and combos until he was in his early/mid 80s. Your music brings back so many great memories of my childhood.
