TTR230 head gasket inst......wait WTF!!!!!

about to throw the head gasket in and re-assemble the ttr engine. BUT SURPRISE!!!! all the head/ cylinder bolt threads in the crankcase have been stripped out and repaired with TIME-SERTS, now those TIME-SERTS are all pulled out, or half pulled out. i have contacted the TIME-SERT company and they make a BIG-SERT to repair pulled out time-serts and other failed repairs.so we are back to waiting.

Wow that’s crazy! Someone who worked on the engine I’ve got before me set not only the timing up wrong ( it was off about two teeth) they had the valve lash set to the MAX the engine barley ran would not idle at all the second I heard the engine and the guy told me he hired someone to rebuild the head I knew what was wrong I just wasn’t ready for how messed up it was.

I have an 05 and it appears to have the same problem. Two of them are stripped out. Where did you order the time certs from if you don’t mind me asking?
