This Lens is the best choice for all X-E Series users, which can't afford the original "Fujicron" 23/1.4 yet, including myself. Of course not the same IQ, but for less than a 100 bucks, a great choice. Lens character is always _for myself_ being more important, than technical, clinical sharpness up to the very edges, starting from open aperture. What kind of people demand this? These are pixel-poopers, err -peepers, not photographers. Many lenses nowadays looking quite so boring, from their rendering, and flat visually, too. Not my taste.

@@TheRealRichardWongIndeed! I'm amazed at what TTArtisan achieved optically for such small prices across their APS-C range. I bet a deluxe line for $500 or so would be phenomenal if created!

You can't get wrong with just that little price tag. All metal build, metal mount, metal focus ring, only the DoF scale and aperture values aren't laser-etched...hey, but for 99...its needless to argue about that. Get it with the matching lens hood, it's usually only a few bucks more. My order was 106 with the matching, black Lens Hood. Zebra version of course.

This is the first decent review of this new lens and I must say it's not too bad. Wide open the center sharpness isn't too bad. As for the rest it's par for the course. It's now in my cart list.

Hello, thank you for this video and nice review. What about field curvature, is the corner softness due to field curvature only ? How does it compare to the new TTartisans 25mm/f2 for landscape photography considering field curvature ?

hi Charbel, oh it is a bit hard to compare as they are quite diffeerent focal length and i haven't compare them too. If you are choosing between these three lenses, i would suggest picking the focal length you like the most instead of focus on the sharpness, CA..etc :)

Hi, I currently have a Pen-F and Sigma 30mm 1,4 and am very happy but unfortunately too big. I am interested in a bright compact lens mainly for street photography and I am undecided between the two TTartisan lenses 23mm 1,4 (plus compactness) and the 17mm (plus focal but less compact) what do you recommend? I would have doubts about their sharpness, to be picky, the potential that the two lenses have in post-production both with open and closed aperture.

HI Mirko, now while i have reviiewed both lenses seperately, i haven't directly compare them against each other. To me, the 23mm and 17mm has quite a big difference in focal length so i would pick the one that is my favourite focal length :)
