    That Z77-D3H was fixable! All you had to do is to kick the recovery BIOS into action. A lot of people don't understand how this is supposed to be done, so I am going to write a small guide for it. Firstly, turn off the switch at the back of your PSU. Press and hold the power and reset button together and don't let go. Then turn the PSU on. Your system will power up automatically for a few moments, and then turn off. Switch the PSU off at the back, and whatever you do, don't let go of the Power+Reset button. Now wait like 10~15 Seconds. Repeat this same process twice, and it's important that you don't let go of your Power+Reset switch at any time during the procedure, and you must leave the system off for 10~15 seconds interval after switching the PSU off. After performing this action for a total of three times, let go of your Power+Reset buttons, and turn the system on normally. It'll boot loop a few times, but then will eventually kick in the BIOS recovery mode. Let it restore the BIOS from the backup BIOS chip, and then your system will function properly. With this method I have managed to fix plenty of GIGABYTE motherboards that just boot loops time and time again.

    @@dakoderii4221 Doubt this will help you as this method only worked on my old HP computer from 2008 (fixed infinite rebooting). But if you are desperate give this a try. Step 1: Shut down computer Step 2: Shut down the PSU at the back Step 3: Open up your computer and disconnect the atx 24 pin power supply connector [Now things get a little bit crazy] Step 4: Turn on the PSU at the back Step 5: Press and hold the power button (NEVER RELEASE) Step 6: While you are holding the power button, use your other hand to reconnect the atx 24 pin power supply connector. Step 7: When you hear the click-sound by properly connecting the atx 24 pin, finally release the power button. Now the computer will boot and the fans will start spinning, so you need to pull out your hand from the motherboard.

    The ASRock board (and any board with those symptoms) probably had a blown fuse. It's one of the more common ways boards get killed. Funnily enough, not usually with mistakes putting it together, I have actually tried to blow a board by connecting the power cables wrong and nothing usually happens (don't try it unless you actually want to blow something). Power protection is very good these days and protection circuits trip the moment you put the wrong voltage somewhere. What usually kills them is things like lightning down the LAN cable, dead shorts in USB devices and most common I find, PSUs going kaboom. The PSU issue is very common because to this day so many people cheap out on their PSU, I say it all the time on forums, never compromise on your PSU. It's one thing to find used PSUs and grey boxes like Brian does on this channel, it's another entirely to pick up a $10 "650w" PSU that weighs as much as a feather and has the thinnest of ketchup and mustard cables. Most of these ultra cheap PSUs lie, they list peak power not nominal power, even a 300w PSU can handle 500w of power for a few seconds and that is usually what you get when you buy a sub $10 500w/600w PSU, a 250w - 300w pile of garbage made with the cheapest components ever to fail QC.

    I would've needed this video a week ago. I bought a used EVGA power supply. It was a GQ 1000W, but I found two cables from a G3 in there to for some reason, that was braided, so I thought I use it... One of them was a VGA cable and an other a perif one. Days went by and I used the PC when I opened up the case again for a different reason, and saw that the fan I connected to that perif cable was not spinning... I thought it was dead, than I thought the power supply is faulty... I grabbed a multimeter and instead of 5, 0,0,12, I found -12, -7, -7,-12 volts on the connector... I still thought that he power supply is bad, because it never occurred to me that PC manufacturers would risk components for BS marketing reasons. When I put together my first PC I was blown away how idiot proof the design was so anybody with little or no knowledge could put together one. There was no way to put something to the wrong place, or even put it upside down... Finally I changed the cable to the GQ one and the voltages were ok. I immediately turned off my pc and changed the VGA cable as well and I considered myself lucky because when I checked the cables they were not the same pinout either. I'm glad my GPU survived that stupid issue. This is really a terrible practice from the manufacturers.

    What is it you're spraying on the computer hardware? I've never used liquid sprays for cleaning, but am wanting to give it a go. Especially if it'll give me a "brand new" type effect.

    The BIOSes in those Gigabyte Z77/H77 boards have a tendency to corrupt themselves for some reason, you can actually force the backup BIOS to activate by holding the power and reset button simultaneously for 10 seconds. But it might eventually corrupt itself again...

    if coolermaster is reading comments. If you make a $50 testbench then im all for it. the problem with them is that theyre pretty basic and dont really warrant such a pricetag when i could just buy a cheap offbrand case and butcher it into a test bench.

    at 15:09 when you talk about a board that has "No Power Going to it..." the power connector clip doesn't look fully seated... Like the locking clip didn't grab the motherboard connector... I could be wrong, but I hope you made sure it was firmly connected.

    Yeah sorry about that I tried it fully in first and nothing came out of it, then having that not connected properly is just trying to see if there is any life whatsoever in the board, which there is none unfortunately :(

    for ram testing you will want to use memtest86 or memtester in linux. just booting is not enough, not even prime95 as it does not use memory heavily. Many memory erros only show up after extended period, and there it helps to directly stress test memory. I've had to test thousands upon thousands of modules, and generally i stress test a full bank of memory (typically 6 to 18 modules) on single node for at the very least for 5 minutes. ... and if i f#### up the testing it might mean i have to spend many extra hours, so this process has been honed over years of practice with servers :) i typically use memtester as that allows me to stress test each CPU core as well. I run 2 tests -> overcommit and stress. Overcommit reveals like 80% of failures but is the slowest to find the faulty one, and stress test is the last 20% but easiest to find faulty one (you can find which individual module failed in linux via /sys/devices/system/edac/mc). *ALSO* a lot of memory issues is simply solved by cleaning contacts, RAM is *very* sensitive to clean connector contacts oO;

Id love to get rid of some of the stuff , i just don't have the heart to see it thrown out . but i cannot afford the space it takes up. Let me know, it would be coming from the states if anything. I remember a very long time ago I had a Asus P5N-T Deluxe motherboard, intel core 2 duo e8400 cpu & 4x 1GB crucial ballistic tracer ddr2 1066mhz memory, BFG 650watt psu & visiontek 512MB HD3870, the system caused me so many problems with blue screens no matter what I tried from swapping to corsair dominator ram to using a intel core 2 quad q9650 cpu,- it still had blue screens. in the end I found out the motherboard just sucked in general so I ended up selling the whole pc(using a different motherboard fixed the problem). Sometimes it is best to take your losses..... if you can't fix it then move on!

    Andrew Joy he is cleaning stuff up properly with break cleaner. Numerous people including myself use break cleaner, and it has actually *saved* otherwise dead motherboards. I’ve personally used it for 4 years and not once have had a board break or a customer complain of a doa board. I think you need to learn the tech yes method to properly clean up boards, yourself. Look up his other vids.
