This tutorial helped me, ordered a "repair kit" for like 8 bucks in amazon, had the screws and most buttons, had to repalce those bumpers, Right one was broken and it even was a brand new controller (3 months old only) and I fixed it in minutes, hardest part was pulling the bottom handles since I was afraid of breaking them apart, the rest is super simple. Broken RB about twice in 10 months for me. The bumpers are the absolute weak points of this pad

This should be a lawsuit against microsoft. They purposely made the plastic piece thinner and have too much wiggle room in that space AND angled slightly at the contact point to easily break off after time of use and/or too much pressure at one time. Just wanted to confirm my suspicions after trying to fix my controller.

I was trying to fix my trigger. Every person in every video I watched tore the cover apart by force and with metal tools. I scratched and bent mine, and after an hour of trying with no excessive force I was unsuccessful and the part below my fingernails bled... You are the first person to show an easy open method from the bottom of the controller, and I solved it in 2 minutes. Thank you.

Guys I just fixed mine by replacing the snapped piece of plastic with the end of a pen lid and placing that inside of the controller (where the bumper press occurs) and it fixed it for me

Used a shaved down popsicle stick for me. You just need something that fits well in the hole.

Hello the ghost account unlinking video doesnt work for me. The email address and password is the same for the ghost account and old account. This means that when I have unlinked the ghost account and trying to link the old account, I just come back to the ghost account again. How can I fix this?

so basically i have a black knight account on ps4 and i have a infiltrator account on xbox(one i use rn) i linked the ps4 account to it thinking id get my black knight back but i didnt and dont know how to get it? any idea?

I was another video but then realized they had the regular Xbox one controller. I come here and while following directions, my problem was exactly what happened to your controller. That was really weird. Is it normal for this to happen for the series controllers? Thank you so much for your video. @@madmax6016 I'm not sure. I can't even remember. I decided to buy a different brand controller that has lasted me for like 8 months with thousands of hours played without stick drift. I bought a GameSir controller and I'll never buy an Xbox controller made by Microsoft until they actually give a damn about their consumers. Their controllers are easy to break and I don't feel like spending 60 dollars for 2-3 months of playing.

Happened to me. It was the left bumper. Idk what happened I don’t even play any games that i have to use that button alot except for warzone but today i woke up to this problem and it completely ruined my thoughts about this controller. It used to be the greatest until it broke on me for no reason

Same happened to mine but it was the right bumper. Didn't fully break off like yours did though. Have it sitting on my table letting the super glue dry. Gunna hope it works and holds or I'll have to take apart my other controller that's starting to get stick drift. Have had both controllers for many years

Yea after my first series controller I just said f it and got the Xbox one controllers since they actually and surprisingly do work well with the series S. Idk about the X but I’d assume the work on the X as well.

I fixed my LB with glue but its not clicking on the far left side. Button works tho

We all need to band together and start a lawsuit or something against Microsoft. I’ve had 4 of these same controllers in the last year and a half do the same thing on the same side. This is ridiculous.

Left bumper on mine just went out on the one I got with my console purchased less than a year ago. This really is a major design flaw and I haven't used this controller that much. Almost like it's designed to fail to get people to buy new ones, which they've recently jacked up the prices.

Its ridiculous how common this is. I gave up on my elite controller because of this. It broke down 6 times and now my regular custom controller is busted with this problem. I love xbox but playstation definitely has better controllers toughness wise

I have a similar issue but my bumper wasn't physically broken like yours. It just doesnt make a click anymore :( EDIT: I went back and looked again and that plastic tab was cracked! Replacement bumpers ordered :) Thanks for this video!

I got a Torx Security T-8 from a hardware store. The lowest price one at that location was a 33 piece Security Bit Set for $5.99. No T-6 in that set for if you need to go deeper in the controller though.

My left bumper is acting like it’s being held in, when the button itself isn’t held in or stuck at all. Luckily, I have an old Xbox one controller and they are compatible with the new Xbox series S and X. I’ll just stick with the Xbox one controllers since the series S is trash. Had my old one for 7 years and I’ve had the new one 6 days and it’s already messed up.

The newer Xbox One controllers have been having massive issues too. I got one in 2020 and the A button doesn't register half the time. Apparently it's a common issue with more recent Xbone controllers. I've had 2 Series X controllers RB bumper breaking and stick drift

i literally put my controller down for like 2 mins and when i picked it up my bumper was soft like how. and it still clicks towards the interior. so maybe dirt but i dont have the tools. fkn sucks

It depends but you won’t know until you open it. If the plastic bumper piece is chipped or cracked, then it’s an easy fix. I even saw someone use tape to lengthen the rod. However, if the plastic piece is fine, you have an issue with the sensor, which is what happened in my case. This seems to be unfixable. So I’m stuck to trading my controller in as a malfunction to GameStop.

I had a left bumper and right bumper snapped and I took the controller to my uncle’s house

Trust me super glue will not work don't waste your time trying. Just replace with new one they are cheap.
