the image of that old couple both blocking the sun is soooo good!
Willem Verbeeck & Grainy Days drop the same time... Nut.
Please do more street photography Willem. Loved those shots
these videos are my favorite.. BTS out in the street/world, paired with the end result photo, paired with some talking in the studio about it all. also the photo of the family on the rocks at 4:42 is seriously incredible, someone needs to find the family so you can sell them a print.

That would be amazing! And thank you :)
street photography is the hardest type of photography in my eyes. brain has to fire on all cylinders. feels amazing when you get some sweet shots back. good on you for going out of your comfort zone! thanks for sharing. your videos are always a visual treat.

Its also one of the most fun and rewarding. My brother was a street photographer before he became a pro and now he tells me that he has lost that passion for photography. Street photography is so raw and unscripted
Street photography is extremely addictive! I started to pursue it a little over a year ago. It has really helped with my overall photography (it made me much more observant). Very cool to see your take on the genre ✌🏼.
Always appreciate your chill demeanor, willingness to try new things, and advice on what has helped you along the way.
This is so relatatable. The fear of capturing people, and not just places, houses and things on the street, oh my, I have definitely experinecd that. This video means a lot. Your magic for color and composition obviously translates, too, though. And the street photos that you included here are outstanding. I'm glad that you still find the time to make these videos. You have always been an inspiration to me. ✌
Dude! That feeling of starting again is the reason I love this genre so much. Keeps you fresh and on your toes, nothings ever the same. truly feels like there’s no end to it. You just get more comfortable with it. Its so rewarding. Cant wait to see more from you in this scene. Willem + Street = ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Loved the subi shots I can’t explain how excited those images were to see it’s such a beautiful thing to show off your car to the world ❤
Love that you got to experience the magic of street photography. The flow you can get into doing it is amazing, and it 100% has me hooked. More, Willem!
Gotta say, this is one of the best videos I've seen from you in some time. Glad to see you trying new things and old things (assisting) as well.
I´ve been really into photography these last weeks and i discovered your channel, so good so far, keep up the work. I love it!
Crushing street Willem! I’m a car guy so really enjoyed those as well. The ‘foggy sunrise’ ones at the beginning of the vid were my favorites though. You have such a good eye and seem to place yourself in the perfect spots at optimal times for impactful shots. Well done!
Hey WV, I think your results for your first venture into street shooting are excellent. You clearly have a good eye. It is an addictive genre. For me, mainly because I get to interact with people. Plus the challenge of framing and timing each shot is so different from other types of photography. Every time I go out to shoot I’m nervous. So the first thing I do is find someone who seems approachable and strike up a conversation and then ask for a photo. This breaks the ice. After a few such encounters I am in the flow and just walk and shoot: sometimes candids, sometime asking for a portrait. As you discovered, a day of street shooting can be very enjoyable and fulfilling even if one doesn’t come back with many (or any) keepers. Just being out with people is rewarding. Keep at it, you certainly have the eye for it. P.S., one of the best places to get great images when attending a parade is in the marshaling area where every one is trying to get lined up. In the ordered confusion, no one will pay any attention and you can get close to the participants. Plus, your images will be very different from the sidewalk shots of the parade itself. P.P.S., my favorite image is the one with the man in Stars and Stripes overalls with his arms outstretched Cheers.
Good video mate. I empathise with you when you say you don't feel comfortable getting up in people's grill but you know its necessary to shoot the style. I feel the same when I shoot street. I find when I'm travelling to foreign countries i'm already out of my comfort zone and that helps give me the push I need, as well as the motivation you get from shooting some quality photo's throughout the day. Would love to see you tackle more street photography!
Im glad that you decided to explore street photography. I've been watching your videos for a while and really like your photos and I always wanted to see how your street photos would look like
These are beautiful images, keep going. Your gentle style coupled with street works fantastically well.
You have a good eye and that clearly translates into candid photography (call it street photography) Ofc there are lots of factors to take into account to make a great image, sometimes being luck, most of the time is being in the right place at the right time which requires experience, having a good approach to people, feeling out the environment
You know what, I think this is my favourite collection of photos from you, so many bangers, and you killed the stret photoghraphy!
You are so inspiring man
Love street photography 💕 The photo of the couple is amazing!
Some really fun shots in this, and I love that you shared some of the ones that didn't turn out too!
everything u shoot is gold Willem! love these shots my fren
My family (father's side) is from Rockport. Spent a lot of time there over the years. It is very beautiful and has a long history of artist colonies.
Soooo good to see these street shots!!
Rockport isn't far from my home and is a frequent shooting destination. Amazingly, one of the still images from that shoot captures a person I know! I find that "tourist towns" are the best place to practice street shooting of people - they are more relaxed and have more expectations of being photographed. Great video, as usual, Willem! Andy
The video was amazing, and please do more street photography! The pictures you showed in the video were amazing and it would be so cool to see more stuff like that from you!
I love the way you talk about photography - I feel understood
In 10-15 years, when Willem is known as the spiritual succesor to the great street photographers of the last century, I will utter, repeatedly and without end, I was there when the first video dropped. All jokes aside, a truly wonderful video on your first experience and genuinely good photos too. As a fellow Belgian, echt goed gedaan
love a good video collection of what you've been up to recently
This is awesome ! This is the day we met you and linus 🔥 let’s get some more car content going .
Such a great little trip! I hope we get to go back one day, I love it there.
I was a full time assistant back in the 70s within a 14 studio (drive in, still life, room set) commercial studio complex set within a victorian London mews location. No digital back then, just analogue heaven shooting Sinar 10x8 / 5x4, and Blads all day long.
Love these episodes
For your first time these pictures came out great. I really like your style with it and especially the small town vibe suits your style very well imo. Keep it up I'd love to see more street shots from you.
rockport!!! visited here a couple of times as a kid with my mom. super nostalgic images for me.
so nice to see you trying street photography and reacting to it !
Two excellent photos of that family crossing the rocks. Do more street, as I believe you got it! Predicting what people do is a talent -- you may have such a gift. Once you understand photography in general and have done so many landscapes, you will most likely ready to learn the street in a shorter time frame. You don't need to simultaneously learn the camera and the street techniques, as you are already half the way to being the street photographer. Those 10,000 shots already done. 🤓. Let me warn you that once you start, you simply can't quit. The people and downtown vibe = wonderful.
This place is magical to Dave and I, so I’m happy that it inspired you to try something new. 😌
Why are u so good 😭 this is amazing first time street photography, feeling inspired
Truly incredible shots.
That was really well done video presentation. Keep up the great work.😊
Love the video, lots of great info here & wonderful photos (love the Subbie too). It’s so much more rewarding when you step outside your comfort zone & it pays off. It’s so interesting when people are apprehensive to try street photography. I discovered photography via street photography so that’s always been my default. What terrifies me is portrait & wedding work, the pressure of other people’s expectations just gives me anxiety thinking about it. I’d much rather approach a scary looking random stranger on the street than to shoot someone’s wedding or portraits.
Recently found your channel. I'm trying to get back into film photography haven't done it for years. But Ben loving your videos Man! 📸😊👍🏻
Well said Willem! Your speech really inspired me and right now I am picking up my camera and going out! :)
so cool to see that you can fall in love again with photography
Always Amazing!
Crazy on the street stuff bravo
Those Subaru shots you took are incredible!!! ❤🚘
Hey, love the shots of street photography. I have a question regarding how you approach people. Do you tell them to pose, or you tell them to be themselves? Did you shot your camera waist level sometime? Thanks!
Great you had a blast trying street. i guess street photography will always be outside my comfort zone even i try it since 25 years😅 .
The photo of that little girl on the rocks ❤❤❤
love the wrx
These are solid, man!
2:54 those tones and the reflection. God damn 🔥
Never miss!
Lovely pictures as usual... Any video on your color grading method?
Love the photos and the shoot with miss veneda carter
Welcome to the show
This was bound to happen and worth the wait.
Yeah definitely events are great for social up close photography people are more willing to be social and have their picture taken without feeling uncomfortable 📸😊👍🏻
That very first shot is so lovely with the foggy window
brilliant photos
Street is definitely your friend! Can’t wait to see if you do anything else 📸
car photos are soo good, man!
dude its so weird seeing the area I live and photograph everyday on your video. Glad you captured the issence of the area of the north shore. Suppried we didn't cross paths yet!
Love the shot at 4:15!
Willem doing street!??? Hell yeah dude!!!
loev your video !! I really would like to see you use 35mm for landscape and your work since my country could not find any mamiya 7.. thanks
Woke up on a Friday to new videos from Willem, Paulie B, Grainydays and Sam Elkins. Today is a good day.
For streetphotography, I can recommend Cartier Bresson “Le Moment Décesif”
Great. Photo, I like that old man and old woman block the sun it is really nice .iam going to do my own photography soon. I do have canon eos r5 with 28mm lenes . keep going your photos so cool
Always makes my day to see more of your new work 🥹
Good on you for trying something new, Willem. Street photography is tricky because you're constantly balancing moving targets (mostly people) and trying to capture the essence of a moment, which given how dynamic people are, can be incredibly fleeting. But you're an incredible photographer, and I know you'll do amazing the more you practice! Thanks for sharing as usual!
Greats shots
Awesome! Stick with it!
4:15 awesome street shot
Welcome to the world of street. You’ll never look at days out the same again. Get yourself a pocket camera. Like the Ricoh you’ll love the freedom. Happy shooting! Great video
Check out coastal Maine if you haven’t already! I was just there amazing
Street photography is amazing
damn these pictures are so good
Awesome video
I'm proud of you Willem!
great vid. good job.
How/where do you develop your films? I have a load of 35mm rolls in my freezer. I love your attempt at people photography. I am scared shit to try, but, if you won't mind giving few details re: the shot where the family with the girl's foot almost touching the ground. You couldn't have been far, yet the photo is so perfect; the subjects are completely unaware? I loved that shot. Thanks
Stay safe out in there in OBX right now. Hurricane season!
hey! any advice on finding shoots to assist on? best way to contact photographers etc? I'm moving to nyc soon and would definitely be interested in finding opportunities
hey what film did you shoot with? great photos!!
Weirdly, your photos and the colors remind me the color of the OG ricoh GR, positive film
I would have a field day shooting in that little town!
Babe wake up Willem just dropped a new video!!
You took good street images for a first timer Willem!
Think you have a natural talent for street photography, these are great
Hello! Willem Verbeeck Excuse me, I am curious to ask you how to focus when you use the viewfinder on the top of the Minolta CL camera? I also want to ask what brand of viewfinder is on the top of the camera? Thank you!😄
Watch trevor wisecup videos from walkie talkie. Its very inspiring! Hope to see more of this! I recently started doing street photography the same reason you are talking on this video. Happy to see people recognizing the same love for this art.
If you're wanting to do more street photography here in LA, try Hollywood Boulevard, Santa Monica Pier, and Broadway street downton. Touristy areas, but they always have lots of not only people but interesting people. I find it can be sometimes tricky to find a spot for street photography in LA since its such a giant city. I think you'd get some great results in these spots and I would recommend them from my own experience.

If you do more street I would try black and white as well, something about enhances the street photos as there is more emphasis put on the content rather than colors in the frame. It is down to preference but it is fun to try
Beautiful
