I loved the photo of the guy on the bike with the flowers!! ❤ I don't think front on would have been better. The shot you got seems more dramatic and tells a great story... he's in a hurry to get the flowers to his special someone. The flowers look good from your angle 👍

@@MikeChudley The front would’ve been worse, we see it from your video. It’s a brown blob of paper vs the shape of the flowers, he looks at your lens, and there’s a distracting car in the background. You nailed the shot. The flowers kind of perfectly covering his head also makes it interesting. You get the whole body and your brain wants to find the head and face and there’s flowers covering it. It works well.

Agreed, showing the face would have divulged too much. My second favourite shot of the day, with sun shining coming first and the candid gentleman's portrait at number 3.

I also was glad you got this from behind the rider. One detail I love is how the squiggling road markings compliment the motion blur to assentuate a sense of chaos and hurry in an otherwise peaceful and serene city shot.

3:06 I think leaving the frame is actually better here because the flowers obstruct the face and your eye wants to go there. That’s what makes the photo interesting. A biker and his head is flowers. We can see roughly what the shot would look like when he’s coming: it’s just a blob of brown paper vs the shape of the flowers, a distracting car in the background, and he’s looking at your lens. Leaving is the much better shot, you nailed it.

I have a bit of a contradiction with photography I'm also a hobby photographer from the UK btw. That I find a lot of candid street photography of people bit meh some great photos don't get me wrong . But I tend to try go for the "cinematic" aesthetic shots that instantly look better in my opinion. but I wonder in time that the candid street photography of today will grow in appreciation has a snap shot of our time period in a similar way we look back on candid street photography from the 60s 70s 80s ect. Maybe in time photos that we think today are meh and ordinary will age like a fine wine. Bit of a tangent but your video got me thinking about it

00:35 Put a smile on my face, What a lovely Leica leather wrap 🙂 Every city which has an open top bus circular service, on a good weather day, is always worth trying. Get a seat early in the day and get a seat on the top deck at the back. This will give you views that you simply will not get in any other way because you are not at street level. Also during the first bus circuit, mark on a map where you'd like to get off and look at interesting stuff and then on the second circuit, get off to examine what you think is interesting and back on again after the photographs. It's a fabulous way of documenting a city, for not much money and without wearing-out your shoe leather. You can also throw-in a restaurant stop for great food and a glass of wine. My favourite photograph was the 'Two bicycles - Look shot'.

There's a vertical frame with the lady in red and black you missed at 5:49. I find looking to the left and right in anticipation works well in the street. The 2 dogs and the pigeons scenes suggest you're somewhat reluctant to kneel or bring the camera down low. I like the barking picture better than the look-bicycles picture. 😊

Love the video. But how can you make your leica m11p shoot monochrom photo? just curious as a non-leica owner

It’s just the jpeg preview and live view. The raw file retains all the colour information. But when you preview the image on the screen and live view it’s monochrome.

I think there were some more nice shots at around: 4:40 (lots of genuine smiles and laughs) 4:58 the poster is a good place for fishing (someone kissing/meeting) 5:45 five guys place unfortunately there wasn’t a 5 guys group, that would have been lowkey funny 6:49 you got that, cute! maybe I would have played with pidgeons too (force them to fly in front of them) etc etc Love this kind of photowalk content, it’s fun to see your process and see what shot I would have taken! Thanks!

I like mostly the guy in the red jacket in the shade. F8 & high shutter speed?

My favorite was the black and white of the older man in the hat smoking a cigarette.
