This one was rather simple too, mainly mouth and subtle movements, the rest I believe is in the after affects, and even then it took that long to polish, I now have incredible respect for those who animate full on TV and movies, they work in teams and it still takes forever

It's freakin fast, actually. I would love to work as fast.

The tears were the best addition, and I would love if they went back and edited them in. But the eye moment with Stan was something that the show did a lot better. Seeing his eyes gave, not only Mabel but, the audience the question of "do you trust Stan". So things I would change in either of the shows: Real; add the tears in, it gives SO much more wight to the scene. Yours; the "look into my eyes" moment.

What you say about the "look into my eyes" moment might be right but notice that he made the animation from the third guy's POV (I don't watch the show so don't know the name, sorry), so that wouldn't work unfortunately.

i totally agree with you , the "dramatic effect" was less noticeable there and the anime style's beautifull but kinda makes the moment less breath taking. But yeah ,the animation is clearly amazing ! We can't deny it!

It's good, but I think the original scene conveyed more emotion. The distant camera view from the fan animation just makes me feel like I'm walking in on it (or if I was Bill, spying) while the original you get that sense of drama and emotion when you can see their faces directly.

I like how in the left it doesn't just shift but the camera moves.

I like the addition of the tears..

One thing that's throwing me off is the lack of expression in the anime style. The original really conveys the intensity.

I said this before, and I'll say it again. You are probably one of the coolest animators on the internet. I love how you turn cartoons into anime keeping the original characters recognizable and yet they look so different. Keep being awesome, man.

Recess be like: Mabel: the kid with the best snack Stanley: The fat kid nagging for it Dipper: The nerd yelling at you that sharing food is not allowed Soos: The random kid watching it Note: I somehow thought of this while pooping.

This scene got me emotional 😭

This just makes me wanna see you animate the entire series in this style. I can imagine that taking ages, but it would be so cool.

The anime version is in Soo’s perspective.

Your version looks pretty, but it's so, so much less dynamic than the original. The cinematography is so dull and one note compared to the quick, energetic cuts in the original. Granted, this definitely fits in with how most animes handle their cinematography, so I suppose it's appropriate.

Well he does the animation alone o3o so he really did a good job doing this in just a week. Cartoons and Anime are different is cinematography, but he was able to recreate something from scratch with only himself on the job to animate this 1 minute vid. That's a lot of hardwork. But you do have a point in the cinematography, eitherway, critiques also help Mike improve ^^

I love how you added the 'shaky camera' to it. Makes it much more realistic.

Watching this actually convinced me to start watching the show, now I'm upset with myself for not watching it sooner, thanks!

Dipper made the mistake once....to trust someone! That’s why it said “trust no one”

The main difference beside the different art style and side view, is the fact that you don’t see his eyes when he says look me in the eyes, do you think I’m a bad person. Personally, I think it was good when you can see Gr7nkle Stan in the eyes, but I know why they didn’t do it. Their art is really good, and I loved the way the camera moves like it’s through someone’s eyes. I love this!

The only thing I didn't like about this is the lack of emotion - due to the constant side views it was hard to see their expressions, and they didn't look as desperate or torn as they did in the show. Otherwise great animation!
