    Truth is, there are a few types of "Darkness" mentioned in the Bible. 1: Literal darkness. Nothing supernatural about it. 2: Darkness that means "a mystery." 3: "The man who walks in the dark can't see where he's going." This one's a lack of wisdom. 4: "Outer Darkness," where no light of God can shine. (The worst type, and probably is part of what I've seen any time I dream of dark cemeteries. An awful many graves out there are dark, and a significant unrest is out there. I've found lightened graves which have rest, too, though.)

It was detailing how much damage that type of single minded “everything is satanic” mindset could cause to a child.

    I would like to point out that the inverted cross being satanic is an incredibly recent concept. Originally, it was called "The Cross of St. Peter" because St. Peter was crucified upside down at his own request. When he was sentenced to crucifixion, he asked that he be crucified upside down because he didn't feel worthy of being crucified in the same manner as Jesus.

    Religious Horror has a lot of capability of growth in fictional storytelling. You got people who manipulate others through misrepresenting the Bible. There are those who re-write the Bible for their own stupid creed (like Hitler. This falls under the one above, but, still. Re-writing to willingly make it against the original intent from thousands of years ago is VERY MUCH AGAINST THE WHOLE BOOK.) You got those who intend well, but are misguided (like this Karen here.) Some of this is just them being young and confused, but trying their best. Some of it might be from badly started traditions that got into different sects of religion (like one example I'll post at the bottom*.) You got the Catholic Exorcists (already seen a few times in horror games.) You even might have a few who (like me) want to read the Bible from as much of a 2,000 BC to 100 AD Hebrew Perspective as possible. I'm not really sure where _that_ could lead, but it's an element to consider. I'm also reluctant to point it out, but the Jamestown or Jonestown Massacre in the 1970s also had to be said again. It's horrible, real, and is why we have the "He/she would drink the Kool-Aid" saying now (even though it wasn't Kool-Aid, but some off brand with cyanide added to it.) * That bad example I once heard of is one I had direct experience with. I don't think it was a troll, but a very badly beaten down young girl. I was once on some PSA Video here in early 2016. The video was about a son of about 10 attending his father's funeral. Anyhow, some young girl (I think 13 or 14) was literally saying all this bullshit like "SHE (the widower) IS A WIDOWER NOW, SO LET'S PRAY FOR HER TO ROT IN HELL!" and literally *no matter what BIBLE VERSE I quoted against her, she would NOT repent.* I tried as much as I could to heal her from her hateful horribleness, and she wouldn't go. I quoted how Jesus wouldn't send fire from heaven down on his enemies (direct Bible quote,) I pointed out how the point of Christianity is *to be a loving person,* I did more than just that, and she did nothing. This is about what she said: "god h8s liars like u ur weak im strong" (and yes, there was no punctuation.) Anyhow, she blocked me after saying something about her like "im in a lutheran whanau" (that's a word,) and that night I had a dream that I was in a Church Basement with someone, probably her. I dreamed that she got Blue (or Blue-Green) Battery Acid on her hands, and I immediately went to wash it off her hands. I got her to the sink with the water on, but she dissolved before I realized what happened. This dream actually makes perfect sense: what she got on her hands was actually *Vitriol,* another word for both "Acidic" and also *Harsh Criticism,* which isn't something I consciously knew at the time. In-dream, I was trying to rinse off what was eating away at her, and although I made an effort as fast and as well as I possibly could then, she was all gone. I wasn't the only one in the comments chain who was trying to correct her, and some time later, her account was suspended. The comments chain is probably long gone by now, and I don't remember the exact video upload I saw it under, though it was likely shot after 2005.

  • @wellhellothere697

    @@101Volts wow, that a super interesting dream. That interaction must have really bothered you. I once came across a video of a girl with a life threatening disease that would kill her the next time she got sick, so she made the decision to die in her room instead of trying to live in the hospital. She believed in god and that she would go to heaven, which while I personally don't believe in, makes me happy that she found peace in such a hard decision. But someone challenged people in the comments, saying, over and over, "But how do you know god is real?" It was so ugly, especially on a video like that. Later they said it was just a joke, but we all know it's just a way to avoid responsibility. Uggh I still feel so mad about it. Also, what does the kool-aid drink reference? I'm going into high school this year, so forgive me for not knowing much. Is it about poison? (I love learning about how poison affects the human body and it's relevance in history, but i don't know what you said means, please tell me if you can!)

    @@wellhellothere697 Well, I was trying my best to convince "MrsLukeArnold" (her screen name then) to give up her nonsense that she was so desperately holding on to. I wasn't expecting a dream of it, though I'm glad I did have it. Really though, I had dreams that felt far worse to me when I was a 10 year old. But, that's off topic. I'll list one at the bottom, though. "Don't Drink the Kool-Aid" or "He/she would drink the Kool-aid" references the Jonestown Massacre of November 18, 1978. There are probably documentaries on it. In short, 900 people (and there were a few survivors from the total group, but very few) were in a death cult, and they drank Cyanide to death. But to explain it more clearly, they were following someone who got more and more unhinged as time went on; someone who was a gigantic manipulator, one Jim Jones. I heard a clip of him talking, and he was talking down to someone who just wanted to go and see his family. The whole place had a tattling system set in place, to "keep people in line," like in Russia during the Cold War. See, any nasty cult like this will attempt to REPLACE your family and be everything in your life. There's a King of the Hill (TV Show) episode on this where Louanne was selling jelly and not seeing her family, but it didn't go into death cult levels. Even the Bible said that there would be people "coming in the name of Jesus," who are actually NOT of Jesus. These people are called "wolves" _(wild_ animals.) That's to say, they are "wolves" that will DEVOUR Christ's followers if followed; Christ's Followers are his "Sheep" who follow his voice. The Jonestown Massacre is a prime example, though I also remember hearing of another case, but I won't detail it. As for one other evil-tinged nightmare I mentioned in the first paragraph, I had this as a 10 year old (or so.) It was of some high-up mogul in a gigantic stone hall, like a Church; there was a long aisle way in the center, but with seats on the sides (and elevated off of the floor) resembling an 1800s lecture hall in Britain. The high-up guy was at the "altar" or pulpit, and his cohorts were in the stands. He had a butler with him who wanted to leave, as they had a disagreement. The butler went down the aisle way, and then the floor gave way under him, dropping him in acid, killing him. The mogul was then starting to address his cohorts, and he forgot the floor was open, so he fell in too.

    The word "God" is neutral, too. There are even other gods mentioned in the Bible, but Deuteronomy has a law where the Ancient Jews (and probably modern ones, and hey, even the most dedicated Christians) aren't supposed to say the names of other gods. Originally, the name of The Abrahamic God is even said many MANY times in the Bible: over 6,500 times, and that is omitted from most modern Bibles for favor of saying "the LORD." It really bugs me how even though Exodus has God stating "this is my name for all generations," most people don't even know that the name exists in the original texts. Names were a big deal in Ancient Israel: they *described a person's character.* They meant character, reputation, and what the person stood for. What you could expect from him/her. With that said, the name of the God of Israel and Moses and Jesus? It's something like "YHWH," "Yahwah," "Yahweh," or "Yahuah." I've heard it said that it sounds like breathing in and out, but I also don't have an audio recording from King David's Time of 1,000 BC telling the name. Does anyone here have one? Probably not. And please - English translations often miss the original Hebraisms that are present in the original text. There are different word puns that don't work in English very well, such as "They will call him Jesus (Yashua,) because he will save (Yasha) people from their sins." There's reason why the dedicated will go and study it for many hours. They might not know precisely what they'll find at first, but it'll help.

  • @KomoraKriogeniczna

    @KomoraKriogeniczna

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hmm, yes and no. As a satanic symbol it came from a simple rule that inversion = negation. Just like with a pentagram - the normal pentagram isn't actually a satanic symbol, quite the contrary - it's a symbol of godly perfection (if I remember correctly, 5 is a number of perfection in Bible). BUT, the inverted pentagram is a negation of normal pentagram - a negation of perfection and godliness, therefore satanic. With inverted cross it's a bit more complicated as originally it was known as Saint Peter's Cross, as he allegedly requested to be crucified upside down as a way to show humility by not dying the same exact way as Christ - taking it in mind, it would be normal symbol related to christian mythology. However, it have ALSO been used by actual satanic cults for several centuries now, due to aforementioned negation rule. So it depends on a context, I guess. Correct me if I'm wrong though, it's been some time since I was interested in this stuff.

It's not satanic and is really helpful for math, english, social skills, and problem solving. I remember when I was going through a stressful time in my home as a kid. I didnt feel safe talking to my parents so I bought a tarot deck. They are beautiful and I would use it to better understand my emotion through a journal. Sometime I would just look at the cards. My mom discovered them and said I needed to get rid of them without asking why I had them and that "they were the reason for the bad vibes". Thing is, the house has had "bad vibes" in the form of arguments and screaming long before I got my tarot set. I kept them.

    Fun fact: tarot has shit-all to do with the occult, it's actually a medieval french game (with Cups, Staves, Swords and... uh .... aw crap I forgot what the last one is. Coins? I swear I used to know the minor arcana!!!) and someone claimed to be Egyptian and invented all the "occult tradition". (Mind, it's still useful for "divinatory" purposes because their point is to basically encourage observation, self-reflection, and intuition and self-improvement, much like alchemical philosophy.) But yeah the major arcana (what most people think is the "full" tarot) is actually basically just a group of special cards (think the Joker, but there's more specialized effects) and the "divining" activity can generally also be done with a normal Diamonds/Clubs/Spades/Hearts deck. You just have to intuit which ones are corresponding and mark the "bottom" of the cards since inverse has different meanings. What deck did you get, out of curiosity? there's a LOT of illustration sets. Also did you only get one with the major arcana or did it have the minor arcana too?

    What if this is all in Karen's head because she's been so manipulated into thinking everythings out to harm her? Seems like it fits in with the story. Also, she needs glasses. edit: I didn't finish the video because I went to bed, but @Alice Is Calling yeah that seems right. Sad story, but maybe this is a reminder to check up on all the karens in our life. They're probably plagued with religious fear implanted at childhood. And lets not fight about single parents, I'm sure (most of them) try to provide a happy life for their children. And Seth might be a representation of how conservative Christians see god, someone to be feared and easily angered.

    The voice at the end saying "I've been trying to contact you. Have you been taking your meds?" seems to indicate she has some kind of mental illness. It's entirely possible that if she already has delusions or hallucinations about demons, the Satanic Panic made her condition worsen. That also might be why her family was driven away.

The movies were thrown away, the music was gone and forbidden (managed to hide and download most of them thankfully), we even distanced ourselves from some of our relatives. That was a bitter time in my life. But again, my mother was about to kill herself through prescribed medication until she picked up the bible and found Jesus. We attended a small church for many years. When the pastor passed away, the board voted for my dad to take her place.

    i don't see a metaphor here. every part of this game is intentional, and the scary part is that it's as realistic as can be. schizospec/psychotic people are greatly at risk for mass conspiracies, (generally, with conspiracies, most believers are just ignorant/indoctrinated.) but this woman's experience is clearly psychotic- her hallucinations/delusions cause her to see no choice but to protect her family. a simple, thoughtless tv program set it off. - by the way, this can happen with or without religious experience - she began to think the tv guy was then talking to, and trying to help, her. this symptom's called a delusion of reference by the way. and then her mind made it worse. as a person on the schizospec, it's great to see such an accurate representation of stigmatized disorders in horror. this "karen" is portrayed as a real, rounded person, trying to live a normal life.
