Not to downplay Oliver's predictions but... These things have been known and written books about, everything from the explanation of how the riots during the 2020 summer came to be, to claiming fraudulent elections, for over a thousand years The most crystal clear example I have, that I use to explain the summer of riots, is from Thomas Hobbes, an English philosopher from the 1600-century He wrote a book called "The Leviathan" and it explains, in great detail, how this past summer in the USA came to be ... the book is over 350 years old Absolutely no offense... but all of this has been obvious and easy to predict for centuries Oliver is simply a well read man with a well read team of researchers and they add comedy to philosophy, science, news, and concepts that are sometimes thousands of years old

Trump and his team were allowed to use clear lies (like Biden wants to defund the police) throughout the campaign without it being illegal or stopped by TV stations/judges/senat/whoever. So I'd say what they are doing is still in legal bounds now too. Morally and ethically completely out of bounds but still good enough for America :D

I don't believe it's *technically* illegal unless it's actually brought up in court and you lie under oath. Don't know if it's necessarily protected under free speech (as it could be construed as inciting a riot or something) or if it is. Because they haven't made claims against specific individuals or groups that could prove they had tangible loss from the slander/libel, they can't be caught up in that. They're toeing lines VERY hard right now
