@Anders That is a dispute among Bible scholars and historians. But she became a faithful follower of Jesus after he cast out "seven demons" from her. ( Luke 8:2.) I was simply pointing out how I interpreted that line in this skit. Do you have another interpretation for this line in this Saturday Night Live skit? It's just comedy. It's a waste of time to start an online argument over this. But such are the times we live in. Sigh...

Sometimes the Sketch "misses" the mark, but the Show has an ability to constantly "reinvent" itself each week, with a new host and then every few years, with a new Cast. For nearly Half a Century, SNL has been a part of my Weekend. Imagine a three or four hour "SNL Reunion" with Chevy Chase, Eddie Murphy, etc? Imagine all the SNL Stars from nearly 50 years in ONE show? What about it Lorne Michaels?

You have something there. The first ensemble cast of the avante garde Saturday Night Live excelled at nuanced humor, wit, satire, timing, every episode treated with the excitement of the first, and with the excellence necessary, in case it were the last. They were never stilted, never contrived. They did what nobody dared do, nobody could do, but these pioneers. Certain subsequest casts and members tried too hard, trying to force us to enjoy, trying to fit the popular mold, and they fell short. This sketch has done what the originals did, did the bold, the excellent, the daring, with the believability that swept us in as partners in the world of that moment. They did it so handily, as best described by the _Tao Te Ching:_ "The Master never has to try hard, because he already _is_ what he needs to be." Yes!
