    The original house was so beautiful and it is so sad it was scene to such horrible murders too. The new house is an epitome of a bad taste and a lack of good style. Another proof that money can't buy everything. Thank you for putting so much effort into going to so many different locations all over LA and making these interesting videos for all of us.

    I also agree. Despite what happened there that one night, the original house was beautiful and had a fantastic history before the murders. Everything old and historic in Hollywood land eventually gets torn down! When the choice is between history and money, history always seems to lose.

    @@brianandrews7099 I read that the original owner, French actress Michele Morgan, was scared living there. It may have been the isolation. Still young at 49 in 1969, I wonder what she thought about the Manson murders at her beautiful former home.

    I was 8 years old when there was a special news interruption I asked my grandmother is that going to happen to us, So yes this is haunting even to this day and I am now 63 years old. This will never leave my memories not because of who was murdered I was only 8 years old it was the way the video and the person who was talking about it. This crime has been implanted in my brain and I guess I will live with this memory for the rest of my life,

    I too was 8 years old when this happened and it stuck in my mind for all these years. I was actually on vacation with my parents and I watching cartoons one Saturday morning while my parents were asleep. Somehow, I changed the channel and this news was being reported. I ran into my parents bedroom and said, "Mommy, daddy, a bunch of people were murdered." I even remember what I was eating that morning for breakfast - QUISP cereal. Even an 8 year old brain, while not fully understanding, can be impacted by events and tragedies like this. My heart breaks for all the victims and their families.

    I turned five years old on the tenth of August, 1969. I didn't remember any of this at the time that it all happened. I started reading about it when I was around ten years old. It has stayed with me ever since.. I wish they hadn't torn down the original house where Sharon Tate lived, it was a beautiful house, in spite of the horrible murders😢.

    Thanks for chronicling the events of this Crime of the Last Century. The crime was so savage and brutal, that it will forever live in infamy. I think that the video of you walking up Cielo Dr to the actual gate, and showing the scene of the murders gives a real perspective, even though it isn't the same house. I believe that when you visited Sharon Tate's grave it showed respect and honor to her and her deceased child. The way you ended the video, showing the surroundings around Sharon's grave, and in the end, showing a visual from ground level from Sharon's grave as if it were possible if so he could see the Grotto and the nearby landscape, then suddenly switching back to Cielo Dr. and the swaying green trees, blowing in the wind on a beautiful day where the tragedy all happened, is absolutely " Chilling". After watching your video, I had a visceral realization of what Sharon Tate, and the other victims lost that horrible night of August 9, 1969. Rest in peace Sharon.❤

    The house which stands there now is to quote King Charles 'a carbuncle on the face of the earth', the original house was gorgeous...most envious of some of the sites you visited whilst in Cali. Just to let you what Polanski was like in those times he was bedding an air stewardess in his place in London at the time Sharon was being murdered, he was known for being a womaniser and as we know liked his young girls thereafter her murder... Great Video LT...looked forward to this, though know quite a lot about Ms Tate and those times.

    It was a strange time when even a star would let persons of dubious character just 'flop' in their homes. Manson had stayed with one of the Beach Boys and was in and out of Terri Melchor's home. Some believe that the intended target was Melchor, who had once lived at the Cielo address, and not Sharon Tate and her friends.

  • @JoesVinylShow1980

    @JoesVinylShow1980

    Charles Manson knew Terry didn't live there anymore. I think the targets were Voytek and Abigail. Voytek allegedly pissed off some drug dealers who had ties to the CIA. Abigail could have been murdered so there would have been a new next of kin to receive the Folger inheritance. The new recipient could have used some of that money to pay off the hitmen. I think Jay and Sharon were at the wrong place at the wrong time. The murderers didn't want to leave any witnesses behind. Charles Manson definitely benefited from these murders because it terrified the Hollywood elite. Those were the people that snubbed him. However, I do think Roman may have had a role too. He may have hated Jay for hanging around his wife when he wasn't around. He definitely would have had a motive. That's just my theory though.

    For some years after, on the 90s lived in this house Trent Reznor, singer of NIN, nine inch nails, then he sold the house, because he told, “the house speak too much” especially in the night. I think that a place where was committed a murder, then remain “sinister” and sad, I cant never live inside. After all, Trent when sold the house, take with him the door, the front door, only this. Today the door is still on his studio music.

    Reznor didn't buy the house, it was a rental. When he left in 1994 he stole the door, and the house was demolished soon after. He used it for the door of his studio in New Orleans, Nothing Records, and it remained there after he abandoned the premises. The door ended up with a local collector, Christopher Moore, and was auctioned in 2023 where it was sold to an undisclosed bidder for $127,000.

    Whatever road you were first walking on must be abandoned, not maintained by the state/city or at least severely neglected by it. It looked more like a dead mall parking lot or where a store had been closed for the past 15 yrs. So wild that in populous LA there's places like that, you would think they'd take more pride in that place and clean it up and keep it nice especially with all the Hollywood money being there.

    I would like to correct some misinformation, Sharon was 5' 3", not 5' 6". In recent years somehow it was reported in some source that she was 5' 6", but according to the "Helter Skelter" book, the original coroner's report showed her as being 5' 3", she was very tiny and petite if you've ever seen any home movies of her.

    Sharon had made a comment having nightmares after believing she saw some strange possible ghost sightings at jay Sebrings house when she dated him . Jay purchased the home Paul bern had shot himself married to a Hollywood bombshell at the time. Jay had told her that he had seen and heard strange things in that house and I bet this planted the idea of ghost in the house. Power of suggestion may have been responsible. She didn’t have a nightmare of her own death during that time. She did want frykowski out of the house since he was having strange peopl at all hours come to the house but as Roman’s friend Roman wanted frykowski there so Sharon wouldn’t be alone. I suggest Watson and Kasabian went there because of frykowski. I would go as far as saying if frykowski lived somewhere else they may have not gone to Ceilo .
