These are common issue that you get when you go with a big name carrier like yours. Find yourself a smaller/more local company, perhaps one that has dedicated accounts. This company just ain't for you

Keep Grinding like you have been! Your channel has helped me and motivated me a lot with my Si! I bought a broken FA5 with timing issues back in 2020 and watching your videos made decide to get it. Now that car is my daily driver and it's a solid car with a couple small issues here and there but she runs good! Keep us updated man! Good luck!

Bro, I appreciate your content! Been following you for a while, still wanting to get in the trucking biz within the next year or two.. My advice: Just remember why you're out there! All those stressful situations will get easier to deal with the more you come in contact with them! Keep grindin! Also, whenever your contract is up, remember there are all kinds of options with different companies. I know a guy who does 3 12 hr shifts with like a local route and he makes good money! FedEx and UPS pays really good too and I think most of those guys are home every night with two days off. Nonetheless, I appreciate the content.. you inspire me to get into trucking one day.. hopefully here maybe next year! Stay safe and God bless👊

Find a smaller company, big companies deal with these problems all the time. I recommend regional, not OTR. You have decent miles / pay and some more home time. I HIGHLY recommend getting endorsements (hazmat, tankers) for more pay per mile

That Roehl contract force you to complete about 120k OTR miles or until you pay off the “free training” because if you quit, you will have an invoice in the mail.

Alot of guys get into trucking thinking theyre gonna drive a couple weeks and be home a couple weeks not realizing that the only certainty in trucking is uncertainty If youre not willing to stay out for a couple months at a time, youre not gonna go far in this industry

Just find a better company with better hours/pay and better equipment!!! Always remember you can work from another state and would obviously be worth it! Do the research! Maybe local dump trucks!!

loads aren’t paying as much and it’s hard to find a load coming back, so it’s like your making half the trip for free or waiting around for a broker or if you are on a company it can be worst

I didn't know you were a driver. Your 8th gen civic videos have helped me so much over the last few years, but I never knew what you did for a living. I'm 41, and started driving truck in 2006. Since 2010, I've been driving local with a union job hauling grocery. Once you get experience, local work, especially teamsters, is very good for pay, benefits, and retirement. Grocery is great to get into. Or you can go another route and work for the city. Less pay, but having weekends and holidays off is wort it. The OTR crap gets old. Too much of a hustle, and no quality of life on the road. I have so much wisdom to share that I wish I knew when I was younger. Keep at it and get your experience. You can branch out to other opportunities with some experience. Also, edited my comment to come back and say: I think its pretty neat how you're video documenting your experience in this industry as you're going through it. You'll be able to look back when you're older and wiser and see what you learned and how far you've come. People will be able to see this who are going through it as well. You're figuring it out as you go, just like everyone else. I'll gladly give any help or advice to anyone.

I do both trucking and yard dog and what sets me off is the idiot truckers. I dont get paid to fix your problems with your truck or teach you how to use your app. I got my own job to do so call a mechanic or use the help line on the app. When i started yars dog, i tried to be as helpful as i can since i love chatting and meeting new people. But, I just cant take it anymore since 97% of truckers come up to me with a problem that is outside of my yard dog duty and half of you have and attitude before you even say hi to me.

I will say being a trucker, I see a lot of idiot things, especially from other drivers. I observe how they talk and act and can agree that a good majority have attitudes or entitlement issues. The way some of them drive is very questionable too. Probably explains why most yard dogs I come into contact with have attitudes. Anyways, how is the pay as a yard dog because I thought about applying.

Yes cause you are your own boss. But you got payment on the tractor, insurance, tags, permits, fuel cost, ect. It's not worth it to do your own thing these days especially just starting your own thing now

There is, but you need to know the industry first. You need to "love" it because that truck will be your life. The ones I know who are successful bought a used truck cheap with about 500k miles. Something new enough to be reliable, but not too knew where you're not making money. The most important thing to know to make money is to operate under your own authority. If you don't know what that means, look into it. Do not sign with a company. I considered doing that, but I rather prefer working for a company with a local job. I get hourly pay, free health insurance for me and the wife and kids, I start at the same time everyday. I don't have to worry about fuel or repairs. I sleep in my bed every night and see the kids everyday. I have a good union pension. Whe I go home, I don't have to worry about the truck or work. I clock out and work is not on my mind. Owning a truck can be beneficial, but it all depends on you and your goals. It's not for everyone.
