Yup. Don't like those, Washington, northern Idaho, western Montana, parts of Oregon but ESPECIALLY going from SoCal into Utah and Colorado. That's particularly murder on your brakes.

Those Are Hills in PA, And WV. That’s Where I mostly Delivered Cars and Trucks when I Started Driving way Back in The Mid 1980’s. Try the Canadian Rocky Mountains you talking about Steep 10-12 Percent Grades that are 8-10 Miles Of Downgrade. Vail pass , Grapevine, Cabbage Pass, Look out Mountain, Old and New Fancy Gap(Hwy 52 & I 77) Black Mountain, and Saluda Mountain. Ain’t Nothing compared to the Transcanada Trail or Highway Going Between Alberta and British Columbia.

I also really like going through ohio and indiana. Lots of service plazas and tons of truck parking. Surprisingly New York state also has lots of truck parking. Kansas, Texas, Florida is probably my least favorite.

You get to see some beautiful countryside.

I had a dedicated run that took me down US 322 in PA. I loved that route. I could get my ole KW in a certain gear and put on the jake, and she would walk down Seven Mountains Hill all day without touching the brakes.
