They paid close to 100 million in sign on fees, agent fees, etc. The deal, including wages, will cost City between 150-160 million pounds.

The transfer fee is fixed 60 millon euros (51 m pound) because of his release clause and the agent fee and sign on fee is upto 40 mil euro and wages on top of that . This signing is completely legal because in the same window they sold multiple players so nothing is sus in this deal . The charges against city are between 2009-2017 transfer Windows.

from 2009 to 2018 means 3 of their league titles being awarded to Ferguson in 11/12, Rodger in 13/14 (So Gerrard would be awarded a league title!) and Mourinho in 17/18! 🤯 plus the 2011 fa cup to Stoke! the 2016 fa cup to Liverpool! the 2014 League cup to Sunderland! and the 2018 league cup to Arsenal! also 2 community shields to Chelsea in 2012 and 2018 but nobody cares about the community shield lol.

I’m not sure if their historic accomplishments will be discounted if they are found guilty. Because the allegations aren’t related to match fixing or things of that nature. They’re related to financial misrepresentation, so I think a current season points deduction would be more likely than being stripped of titles

It really depends on what City have done here. Was there an intention in their actions or was it a case of them just making mistakes as they had a lot of money laying around. If there was an intention to do these things and to hide them that means all their titles in that period need to be stripped. And that means Utd, Liverpool and Chelsea could be the new title holders. I do have suspicions about Chelsea but those are unfounded.

@@eldio2124 Agreed, though breaching rules of any nature means you've given yourself a distinct advantage over other teams, so technically they built a better squad than they should have over that period. Could be the difference between them signing players like Haaland, Grealish, De Bruyne and Ruben Dias and so on.

Before people bring in Chelsea, Chelsea have never inflated or done shady business in terms of sponsorship deals. They found a loophole in ffp and took advantage of it. Now PSG, that's a different case but I doubt ligue 1 will ever hold psg accountable

Jose Mourinho rightly wanted to be handed the 2016 Premier league title as Man United finished second. While he was at Spurs City were charged by UEFA for breaking financial fair play rules and the conclusion was that the Premier league must have been included

I want to see Gerrard handed a PL medal, dress up full kit then get carried through the streets of Liverpool.

I remember years ago when Utd and Arsenal were deducted 2 points Arsenal, and 1 point Utd, for brawling on the pitch. If the charges against City are proven, then i expect far more serious action from FA for bringing our game into far more serious disrepute against FFP.

That may not help them at all. They are a member of a league association that can be stripped of them. Fighting out in a court may do them no good at all. It did not help rangers in a court of law and they have far more powerful political connections than City.

Rangers are far more politically connected in Scotland than City and they got it handed to them. Once an issue goes public in the culture it rarely is solved by money. The EPL right now is under threat from government overwatch and everything they do will be scrutinised. This will even pop up in parliament and wider culture.

At the end of the day FFP is setup by the big clubs to protect their monopoly over the sport. Small teams who do well get their players picked off the following season or two which benefits the big teams (Look at how Arsenal tried to tap-up Vardy, Chelsea raided them for Kante and Mahrez forced a move when city came knocking) and anyone who attempts to similarly buy themselves success are told its against the rules. The big teams in europe have created a glass ceiling in football and it amazes me that they have been legally allowed to do it. The likes of Chelsea, City, PSG and now Newcastle are giving the traditional big teams a bloody nose and they have been allowed to manipulate the rules to protect themselves. It's like Asda telling an independent shop keeper that they can't sell cheaper products because they'll take their customers away. Its utterly ridiculous.

Justice for football will finally be served. Totally out of order that for years all other PL clubs have suffered as a result of this illegal institution. They should be banned from all levels of football and thrown into non-existence to ensure this doesn't happen again to our beautiful game. RIP Oil FC

We have all known City have been cooking the books for years. The EPL need to make some serious punishments to make a stand. They can't fill their ground for one and their fan base isn't large enough to sustain the revenue they will have declared. I heard the owners buy seats not sold via a separate company to ensure it shows full capacity each game. So wrong

100, yes 100 breaches. Put that into context, if I had breached just one of those breaches I would be jailed. It's been known for years and nothing has been said or done about it.

Problem can be solved by limiting the number of players registered per club….. Reintroduce a strong seconds competition without age conditions and restricted loan deals.

The police should investigate any suspected fraud, not an independent panel. Clubs, players and fans may have been denied millions of pounds in prize money, bonuses and wasted match ticket and journey costs to watch a null and void competition. Transfer fees and salaries also inflated for other clubs to compete against, again paid for by the fans of other clubs throughout all of football. Fraud by false representation (Section 2); Fraud by failure to disclose information when there is a legal duty to do so (Section 3); and Fraud by abuse of position (Section 4).

Creative accounting can be a very powerful tool.

The fact that City’s owners are financial frauds is the worst kept secret in world football. How they can make massive signings with half empty home matches and 2 sponsors was always suspicious as hell.

They should face deduction of at least 15 points from every season from 2009 up to now in 2022 and should be relegated to league 1 . Plus after the changes in the total points the new winners should be announced .

What I find funny is that that they probably thought some heat would be taken off them for finally selling some of their players and reducing their net spend but let’s face it, it doesn’t really count when you have a financial advantage to buy them in the first place. Liverpool lost out to city in the league when they had 97 points and 93 points whilst this has been going on and everyone knew that something was fishy about it.

How the hell can City generate as much revenue per year as Real Madrid, Barcelona, Munich, United when their fan base is literally tiny. It's so obvious.

The PL and FA had to act or risk getting in trouble from UEFA with potential reductions in English teams in Europe. The FA puts teams forward for a European registration to play in European competitions, they should only register teams that abide by FFP and other things. The PL has done very little to uphold FFP and punish teams and it shows as it’s UEFA having to raise issues.

Surely if there's charges there must already be punishments that are in place if the rules are broken

If there was intention in their actions they would most certainly lose their titles. That could mean for that whole period of time. The clubs wanting them kicked out maybe fuming as they feel cheated.

If guilty of these allegations I feel it should mean expulsion from the entire league. Could take the entire team to play in another country,perhaps Restart the Super League process only next time go through with it. Saudi Arabia springs to mind oh and let's not listen to hypocrits.

Send them to non league with a 800 million pound fine! It’s the mindset of a major corporation who think they can do what they want with all of their money. A president needs to be set, other clubs need to see the premier league, UEFA, FA & FIFA stick together and have a REAL punishment. Not a transfer ban, not just a fine and not a points deduction!! Send them to non league and let them build up again from scratch within the budget they are allowed to spend. Now is the time to make a statement!! If any club done this they should all be punished exactly the same way.

The funny thing is the majority of lower league clubs that abide by the rules don't get the credit they deserve. Shows that the rule breakers are the ones at fault for inflated transfer fees.

Yes because we actually sold players for big money and Roman went through a few summers where he didn't spend hundreds of millions. City spent hundreds of millions without selling any players for a lot of money.
