It's great to see trolls getting more attention. They're an underrated classic. I wrote a book about a world thick with fog and full of trolls. They're a lot of fun to write.

The Three Billy Goats Gruff was always one of my childhood favorites. I think a detailed history of that story would be interesting. Good content, great channel.
The fact the word troll was a catch all, is such a disservice to other supernatural beings. Even if it was the way of things back in the day. Someone: "TROLL!" Witch/Giant/Demon/Vampire/Werewolf: "Excuse you..." I hadn't thought of trolls being like Neanderthals' till you mentioned it in this video. Now I can't look at trolls the same. But it makes sense. Trolls dislike all things Christian? Huh. That's also something new to me. Thank you for another wonderfully done video! Always love learning new things.
Just started watching your videos as a fellow fan of folklore! I come from Sweden and over here Trolls are not always inherently evil nor stupid. Some times they represent the danger of the wilderness/the unknown, some times they are their own people living outside of human society with their own culture and family bonds. Many times they are dangerous, but some times they are just tricksters or just like people like you and I. In Swedish folk lore many things represent nature, and the danger and beauty it brings, and the respect it deserves, and I too see Trolls as part of that. They are nature spirits just like elves and fairies and the gnomes!
The Trolls in Sir Terry Pratchett's Discworld are my favorite version of the Troll race. Detritus and Brick are incomparable characters and the whole silicone-based biology angle is sheer genius.
Trolls are incredibly hard to kill in D&D & Pathfinder. You have to use fire or acid to prevent them from regenerating.
This warms my heart so much. I grew up watching Tales of Arcadia: Trollhunters. Caused me to create my own species of trolls lol. Thank you so much for making this video!! It’s good to see more of trolls!
I like to think of trolls this way instead of the tiny Rainbow guy's
One of my favorite recent versions of the Troll are the ones from Hilda! And I know now why they don’t like bells, because Trolls were originally scared away by Church bells. (Though I guess they took the religious aspect out of it and just made them not like the ringing of bells in general…)
Troll from Netflix and troll hunter are really good movies that explore on this amazing creatures. Great video as always 👍😀
Troll was an umbrella term describing anyone or anything living outside civilization: be it a witch, wild boar, wolf, etc

Like the Romans used the term Barbarian for those who used to live outside their civilization
In the Skylanders video game franchise, trolls are used as a common enemy that can easily be defeated by the playable characters. And speaking of trolls as playable characters, the only known troll to serve on the side of good in the games is Boomer. Skilled in the field of demolition and explosives, Boomer decided to become a hero after overhearing the plans of his fellow trolls to destroy a dam and flood a nearby town. By using sheep to bear the force of incoming water, Boomer's heroics were recognized by Master Eon and the cyborg troll was made a Skylander.
Trolls may be dangerous, but they might just be trying to survive in the wild among people who have itchy sword hands.
In my future novels, I would use them as extinct creatures as well as goblins and imps, though the orcs are entirely an endangered mythical creature species.
He didn't bother stopping to discuss Nuttin like didn't even pause. That was a short story.
Wow! Didn't know there was so much cross cultural mythos regarding trolls! Always been intrigued by trolls & you've woven in the various depictions of trolls in virtually all of the epic , like Beowulf, The Hobbit,...so beautifully! Brilliantly done once again!🌹💜🌎
In nordic folklore, trolls are actually beautiful beings that closely resembles humans, with the difference that they have a tail. Trolls being depicted as big and ugly is actually a modern concept, largely attributed the artwork of Swedish artist John Bauer.
My favorite race to play in World of Warcraft were Trolls
Great episode! My Basic Fantasy RPG group had to battle trolls tonite!
In Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, Harry and Ron saved Hermione from a dimwitted, but dangerous troll who was released from his prison by Professor Quirinus Quirrell.

Made my old Swedish heart and worn soul happy, giving these creatures some attention....👍🏻👌🏻👏🏻
Makes me wanna watch TrollHunter again, Great Movie! 🍿🤘
I do love this video, Trolls are not always my favorite mythical monsters but the monster Grendel does give me interests.
Good job!
In GOW you just beat trolls with an axe lol
Cool
You should make a video about orcs or goblins.

THE END. Thank u for reading this story I hope u liked it😊
From darkness they came and died in the light
Disney decided they had to portray trolls as helpful and kind in order not to offend the troll population and/or those who identify as trolls.
In the games which r set in the Forgotten Realms there r Trolls in that and they can only be killed with fire or acid.
There was a Norwegian film called Trolls. It was about these college students stumbling upon a man who hunted rogue Trolls for a secret society of Troll hunters. Kinda like Men In Black.
Troll! In the dungeon! I thought you ought to know...
Very clean and easy to understand
Can you also make a video about giants?

For the glory of Merlin, daylight is my to command.
Grieg's Peer Gynt features trolls.
So the word "troll" was originally used in the same way as Yokai from Japanese mythology, in that both words incompess a wide variety of supernatural creatures. Interesting. 🤔🤔🤔
The norwegian film troll hunter is amazing! I recommend anyone watching this to see it!

This is why trolls are fascinating creature from mythology they look like a twisted version of humanity.
What about the DreamWorks trolls based on the trolls toy? Also the trolls doll with the hair. The bergens seemed more like the trolls of old
❤🤍💙 all your videos mate👍
Someone probably commented on the first Harry Potter book/movie about the troll in the Girls' bathroom
In Finland these are called "peikko"
10:31 didn't gandalf help them too?
We don't talk about trolls the movie
What about the most insidious type of troll... the internet troll? 😳

Bilbo didn't trick the trolls. Gandalf did
I Love Trolls I Used To Think It Be Awesome If They Were Real
It was Gandalf who tricked the trolls, not Bilbo.
Neanderthals - NOPE! According to paleantologists, the Neanderthals looked very much like modern humans, with only superficial differences in appearance. They could easily pass for Homo sapiens, and in fact, probably interbreeded with us.
Do Trolls Really Exist
Jättar means giants in swedish Btw hate to correct peoples grammatically but it’s bothering me so much but jättar means giants and jätte is giant
pre-Christianity, trolls are depicted as more smart. the catholic church are mostly responsible to their depicted as more dimwitted, later on.
You’re talking about giants, not trolls.
Is it possible that creatures like Fairies,Trolls & Elves could live in Mexico as well?
