ffs heafy has to be one of the best gitarists ever. it is liike my dream to meet hinm and have alesson. ive only bn playing for about 2 months and just getting my fingers used to everyhting. hopefully ill be having lessons soon thouhgh. how the hell is he so gd wiht his 4th finger(little finger) mine is weak! trivuim you are the best

yeah thats exactly what floating means. it means the end of the bridge doesnt touch the body, which enables you to bend both ways. basically for the dime squeal you push the whammy to drop the pitch, then release, and before it reaches regular height, put your finger where you would do a harmonic. then pull up on your whammy

dude i really hope so. i was one of the people who disowned trivium after they released the crusade, but i bought the album anyway and even though its not the same as their old stuff, its still unique and i got used to the vocals.

its a dean dime razorback, but the alpine white with gold hardware is a custom. only that one and 2 others were made but carlino guitars did a limited run of 24 of them at christmas last year! i got the last one from that run! :D

Im pretty sure they mass prodoced a all white razorback but the one matt has is a little off white and has a gold trim it is one of two in the world.

somebody needs to tell matt that the third sweep hes doing is another form of a minor sweep, and i believe its the same one that corey does, just with an extra note at the bottom so he can hammer on.

everyone also has to realize that these guys are A: 20 years younger just about than petrucci. B: not even in the same genre. i love dream theater and john petrucci is one of my favs. but in years with maturity these guys could be as good as john. they have a lot of learning to do, but as far as speed goes they are good. they just need to focus on clarity and knowledge. i wish that i was as good as one of the three.

Yes that is completley true. Dime was a guitar god, but so are many other people. Petrucci, Rhoads and Wylde are also amazing. But because of them and others, people do not take guitarists like these guys and other modern metal guitarists seriously. No one can get a break and be called amazing nowa days like dime is, because they either get called shit or people say that they are trying to be like the other guitarists. Thanks for posting that comment as i was getting quite annoyed.

They can certainly play, that's for sure.

That also depends on your tone and what shit you're using. If you have good sustain, and some fucking gnarly gain, you can make it wail for a good while. As for the range, it's the same as any other natural harmonic. The harmonic on the 12th fret, sounds the same as the one on the 24th

so thats how they do it!
