Anyone who can't work out the solos, learn your scales, and you'll find it will all fall in to place. Seriously, I never thought I'd need scales or theory, and now I'm learning them, rather handy imo

i remember when i first picked up a guitar i thought i would try this song but i had never played before but i thought i could learn but i couldnt even 0:20-0:25. it was too hard switching between the A and D string, but now i can play the whole song and that was three yrs ago. trivium fuckinn rules

Any chance you could explain what the hell he’s doing between 00:20 and 00:26? I’ve been trying to figure this out for YEARS, and I’m still nowhere close. I can’t really see where his fingers are on the D and the G. It looks like he’s got his pinky starting on A10, and his ring finger on D9, and then slides up two frets, but what the hell is he doing with his middle and index fingers??

@BobBriessinck Well, basically you get a string ringing with your left hand by pulling off, drop the whammy bar really low, touch a harmonic and then raise the whammy back up. It takes practice but you'll get them clean. You need a Floyd Rose system aswell, can't do them on a standard whammy

Yes true, even fender has squire and gibson has epiphone. Just something a little more affordable for beginners or those on a budget. And knock it off with the balsa, cause you know damn well. You will see lower end and better quality. What do you play anyway?

dean markleys are strings the guitars are dean, and they dont all suck. and as far as i know they use the MG microstacks in these vids, which arent meant to be great, but they work alright for tutorial vids.

@Captt95 Assuming that you're in standard tuning, F major is a good place to start, then learn how to modes work within that scale, shouldn't be too hard to find with google. Then once you've got that fairly solidly in your mind and with your fingers, learn some major and minor arpeggios, again, plenty of information for that online :)

@TTyuyTT Yeah I do agree, its clear and it would be nice if he could slow down more. They ARE actually missing some small parts in between ex-b and ex-c, but i think if you plan on taking on this song....you should at least be able to ball park it by ear. If not, Trivium for sure will be hard to cover.

That siple isn't true. For example, I tabbed out Hand Of Blood by Bullet For My Valentine and tried to post it on UG but they rejected it. Fair enough. But I posted it on a different site and it got accepted and its the highest rating Hand Of Blood tab on there. So it can't be inaccurate.

i correct my self....he uses downpick for main riffs and whatever alternate picking, tapping, sweeps, and all tha crazy shit for solos also matt and corey use donwpick for ALL live versions right from the beginning not one video have i seen with alternate...and id love to see someone prove me wrong

Everybody who is on here arguing about what genre Trivium is and how good they are should just pipe down. One - who cares what genre they are? People are allowed to listen to different genres. Also, Trivium sold 60,000 copies of The Crusade in the UK IN ONE DAY. They must be doing something right.
