The British gallon(4.5 L) is different from the American gallon (3.5 L). So the claimed mileage could be 28-34kmpl depending on the unit.

h'ness is just class apart, having ridden it for 2000km now, the engine refinement is just outstanding . Comparing it with a roadster which will definitely overshadow in terms of power figures doesn't justify its position as its in different category. One needs to decide whether they're looking for a modern touch retro bike which in my view h'ness takes the honours or just pure power packed bike which speed 400 offers.

Long term reliability is question mark . It includes easy to repair , Soares availability and fuel consumption. Dominor , KTM , Yezdi ,Jawa already exist with same performance but Survey Triumph 400 will lead the pack of Chapris considering its easy to reach by price factor alone. No bike in India delivers Raw power like KTM but they are chapri bike.

My height is short and I went with the hunter 350. I was considering hness but when I saw it in person it was quite big for my stature. RE classic was out of the question for me. After triumph revealed the price I was sad. It is an upgraded hunter through and through, be it in features or performance.

Honda will completely stop selling above 2 lakhs now I think. These soulless Japanese corporation only care about bottom lines so they will continue to pump Activa and Shine while discontinuing premium bikes. Speed 400 & CB 300F are launched in same 12 month at same pricing, that tells you how retarded Honda India is.

Classic duplicate any day better than classic. I owned 1982 bullet for a very long time. Recently went and did test ride of all REs and Honda 350s it was extremely disappointing that none of the REs were as refined and better at handling than CB350. I am yet to make a final decision which one to buy but certainly none of the REs. Every Tom Dick and Harry has a RE bike now unlike when I used to own. It's not a statement anymore. Triumph is bad mix of roadster and classic awesome pick up and excellent braking but the models I rode were burning my legs. Looks are absolutely average and seating isn't comfortable. Certainly a no on Triumph.

Great review assessment and thank you! I agree with your thoughts on the BMW G310R range, in that its smaller capacity and lower power means low final drive and gear ratios, such that it is revving hard and getting close to its maximum speed at open road cruising speeds in international markets, which is usually around 100 - 130 kph. Putting the KTM Duke 390 aside, the Triumph 400 speed has an excellent power to weight ratio that could see it potentially coming very close to the performance of the Honda CB 500 twins - slightly more power, but also more weight. From you comments it sounds as if the new Triumph can cruise easily up to 120 - 130 kph which will be highly welcome in international markets where it will also be sold.

If u really want a bike whose battery won't die even if u don't ride it for a month, there is none.. if the battery is new, it will not die but as you go along, it will eventually create troubles especially these FI bs6 motors.. your engine won't start without battery at all.. it is better to cut the connection of one phase of the battery when it is idle for longer durations.. buy simple screwdrivers or some wrenches and remove the connection from +ve/-ve terminal of the bike's battery..

Shame on such KZreadrs who mislead people for money. You told Speed 400’s ex showroom price that is 2.33L and then compare that to Honda highness’s on road price 😂😂? And then to say highness is expensive? 50 ₹ katu tera overacting ka ? Ex showroom price for higness is 2.09L on road is 2.45L while Speed is almost 2.80L on road. Also Speed has milage 25Kmpl while highness is 35Kmpl. Add to that bajaj won’t do servising for speed triumph would. Now say which is costing more. Lastly Speed is the biggest loser when you spend 2.78L rupees and have no road presence. The bike looks small it doesn’t look like a 400cc bike at all. Again lastly you lied about mileage for Speed 400. Its a KTM in classic body my friend says 26kmpl is what he gets max
