Am crying because all greats are in heaven

Trini and his partner/drummer, Mickey Jones was a personal friend of mine. Mickey was a complete gentleman and was a great drummer for Trini. I spoke to Trini once over the years, and if it werent for both Mickey and Trini I would never have been in the music business. I cant thank them both enough. Rest in peace guys.

Thank you for sharing this. I'm a fan. Mickey Jones was a good drummer for Trini, especially in that initial 1963-64 period of success, prior to Gene Riggio assuming the drum chair. I became a TL fan " later" on,during school year 1971-72,yes

@@paulbartlett3200thanks for your clarification. I dealt blackjack with/“geno” @ the original mgm grand hotel in las vegas. We were lifelong friends until he passed in 2018. One day i had him over to my guitar shop for lunch and a visit and he brought his scrapbook and regaled us w/his adventures on the road w/eddie Cochran and his group the “Kelly” four who toured and recorded w/eddie. He also shared anecdotes of his association w/trini who through my parents listening to his music on dad’s reel-to-reel i was familiar with and had a love for.

What a gorgeous man and a gorgeous voice.... We miss you, Trini Lopez 💗💗

@alvarojr..i understand they’re rare guitars. How would you compare it to a les paul or even a 335 acknowledging its a hollow body.. i love my les paul. Its made a player of me..

A great guitarist. A great singer. And most of all a great entertainer. Watch the video again and watch him interact with his audience. It's almost as if he's flirting with every single one of them. You just can't fake that affection. We all loved him and he loved us right back.

Nice compliment for me if i had the chance to be his wife, that was music in my heart ❤️ but i have never saw him in person and I am a very late fanatic fan of the great global legendary ICON, IDOL FOREVER ❤️ TRINI LOPEZ 111 * * UNFORGETTABLE, until this time i didn't forget him even a single day.. Why? i am sure because of his thousands or more great songs he did, successful shows, concerts and many achievements to reach the highest peak of his career!!! HE IS A VERY BRIGHT STAR 🌟 🌟 🌟 💋💋💋🙏🙏

Did Trini's career make it out of the 60s? I remember him being a big star when I was 3 or 4 years old 67-68... I always remembered him and I've been meaning to listen to his music again for the last 20 years and tonight was the night...He was a fun great performer with a great British Invasion guitar sound.....I also just found out he sadly passed 2 years ago at age 83, he was singing and recording his music until the end. I liked it back then when a musician had a hit and 50 other artists immediately covered the song...If the song was great (and they frequently were) the more versions/takes on it the better....Even cute Wrangler Jane covered "Lemon Tree" along with 50+ other versions... Trini looks like a young Mexican Mel Gibson...

Helio Oliveira Costa the original 16mm film was found in the garbage. Luckily I managed to get it transferred.

Mr. @@donnferris5193 you did a good job. For all that admire Trini Lopez. I have tried to get live presentations in DVDs, but till then all I have is one recorded in 1964.

This show was filmed on November 30, 1967..........but wasn't broadcast until early 1968. Trini had previously toured Australia 3 years earlier (November-December, 1964) with Louis Armstrong.

@kenselcer..Thanks for pointing that out. Thats an obscure fact that only a true fan or knowledgeable music buff would know. I dealt blackjack w/“geno” @ the “original” mgm grand hotel in las vegas. Being a guitarist and huge music fan myself when i got to find out he was trini Lopez’ drummer and that he also backed up and toured the us w/Eddie Cochran I followed him around like a puppy and hung on his every word. Years later when i had my own guitar and amp shop and told my business partner about my association w/geno he insisted i have him down for lunch and chop it up. The day came and geno showed w/his scrapbook and Kelly four hats for all of us and regaled us w/tales of life on the road w/eddie and trini. More eddie, thats what we we’re really interested in. Alk due respect. Geno didn’t disappoint. He was a great guy w/a big heart and we remained friends until he passed in 2018. Only in ‘Vegas…

Trini Lopez was best when playing as a trio with bass player Dan Shriver and drummer Mickey Jones. Watch and listen to the raw energy of the 1964 shows in Belgium and France. This Australian show in 1968 with a whole orchestra behind him is really too middle of the road.
