Yea, this guy was not only one of my favorite sax players, but one of my favorite musicians of all time. As a teenager I was introduced to him through my dad's weather report LPs. I thought he was larger than human. As I got older, I checked out his stuff with Miles Davis in the 60's and his blue note records. I was astounded to find albums such as Etcetera, and a few other albums he did with the label that came out way later than they were actually recorded. Of course "Footprints" is his standard and so many other songs I rank up there with it. To me Wayne Shorter is Elegant People in this crazy world we live in.

“June Night”: kzread.info/dash/bejne/oa6gj65-kcbMhpc.html This is from Wynton Kelly's Vee Jay album "Kelly Great," Wayne Shorter’s first significant record date-just short of his 26th birthday. Arguably, his solo here on "June Night" forecast his entire career.
